Reviews
Reviews for Posh Paws exhibit a mixed level of customer satisfaction, with a common theme of variability in grooming quality and staff performance. Some customers praised the friendly and accommodating nature of the staff, highlighting positive experiences with their pets, including successful grooming for anxious dogs and good communication. However, several reviews expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome of grooming services, particularly concerning miscommunication about styles and poor handling of specific requests, leading to distress for the pets. Overall, while some long-term customers appreciate the service and value, a number of recent experiences suggest a decline in quality and consistency, raising concerns about the reliability of their grooming services.
I read some good reviews on Google and decided to give Posh Paws a try for grooming. Jaime did the grooming today, and although I provided pictures of the style I wanted for my dog (such as round paws and face), she didn’t follow the instructions, and the result was completely different from what I expected. Additionally, I noticed a cut on my dog’s neck, which is concerning. I’m unsure whether I should return and try a different groomer or look elsewhere.
After being disappointed with the groomers in Seattle and trying to cut my dog’s hair myself, I finally decided to give this place a chance. I gave them so many instructions especially about the face and i had low expectations that they would deliver. And they did! He looks as cute as he always is, and they did a great job. Cole was his groomer and I appreciate the haircut. Their prices are reasonable compared to other groomers in the area which makes it more likely i use them again.
For the past six years, we have taken our pitbull, Monkey, here to get her nails trimmed. She is extremely fearful and hard to handle, but every time we have brought her to posh they have been so great with her. They are super efficient, non-judgmental and kind. We really appreciate it!
Came here to get my dog’s nails clipped but they missed both of his dewclaws and two toes in the hindlimb Decided to give it another chance but the second time they didn’t clip my dog’s dewclaws again Had to take him elsewhere to get another nail clipping Would not recommend coming here or if you must, be sure to check their work and make sure each digit is all clipped properly before paying!! The groomers here are very unfriendly as well, very bad customer service.
Friendly staff, super accommodating… been going to them consistently for 2 years now… it’s always awesome when they look forward to seeing my doggo. It’s never hard for me to find a slot but then again I’m only getting a regular bath, nail trim, expression, and teeth cleaning (which my dog will never let me do)
I would like to preface I’ve been going to posh paws for 4 years. For the most part we’ve had positive experiences. But clearly the quality of their work has fallen off a cliff. I called several times over multiple days to speak to someone about my grievances and was told I would receive a return call from the manager, still waiting and it’s been several weeks at this point. When I dropped off my cat I was as clear as you can get. She’s old, she can’t groom herself like she used to. I asked them to clean up one mat. I wanted them to bathe her and just trim her up a bit, make her look good. The lady then asked if we wanted a lions cut to which I explicitly restated what I wanted. Then she points to the carpet, like that short? … NO, I just want a light haircut. When we picked up the cat, she’s completely shaven, she’s a long hair cat. After going around in a circle about how I didn’t want my cat completely shaven you just completely shave her. They also failed to bathe her because she was “stressed out”. That hasn’t been an issue any other time but maybe shaving her entire body might have played a factor… So, we paid $120 dollars for our cat to be shaven… badly at that. I would have been surprised if it took her more than 5 minutes. We used to have Kat help us. She was always lovely and did a great job. But she doesn’t work there anymore. Considering how management deals with grievances and doesn’t bother to call customers back, I can understand why she doesn’t work there anymore. You’re taking a real gamble when you go to posh paws. Maybe the tech was hired yesterday or maybe they know what they’re doing… Regardless, if you have any issues good luck speaking with anyone.
I rescued a toy poodle recently and was informed that he had previously had a traumatic experience with a groomer. I told the great people at Posh Paws this when I booked his first grooming appointment. He has now been groomed there twice and has been totally fine both times! Not only has the grooming been of excellent quality, but Picco showed no signs of trauma whatsoever. Their prices are very fair and the quality and professionalism of their grooming is excellent. I would highly recommend Posh Paws!
Sophie (my cat) and I super appreciate the monthly cat grooming Mondays!! The cat grooming appts are 1-1.5 hours. The first time I came here they shaved my cat’s huge beautiful tail all the way down and it was kind of shocking because I’ve never had a groomer do that. The 2nd time I went in I requested a teddy cut but leave the tail, boots and some mane around the face/head. Now Sophie looks PURFECT! Very good groomers here just remember to be a little more specific or take in a picture just like a human cut.
They did a great job with a very challenging dog to groom. Only issue that I had was that my better half dropped the dog off at a new groomer for the first time there. They were supposed to call me to come a pick up the dog because she had prior obligations. Instead I received an automated text message without a human on the other end of it. See pictures below.
they were super friendly, with booking, arrival and pick-up … my dog is nervous and they were really sweet with her, so she did great. And her clean, soft fur was a treat!

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
