We’ve been taking our dogs to them for year and are always very happy with the quality of the grooming. The staff are great to work with and take great care of our dogs.
My Dogs Bunny and Paddington absolutely loved Angie. She is a great groomer. My pups always came back in a great mood and properly floofed! We got off to a bit of a rough start, but Angie made everything right. Best grooms my dogs have ever had. Sometimes when you give it a second chance you have the most remarkable experiences! We had to move out of the area and sadly we can’t come back as it is too much of a ride for Paddington. As I was writing a review for their new groomer, I realized I didn’t write one for Magnolia Paw Spa. We truly will miss this place. Thankfully we have found groomers that do as good of a job. Sorry for the delay in this review, Angie!!!
Updating to say we now take out boy Sampson there too and he comes.hime looking extra handsome every time. Angie is kind and patient and my cats look great!! (Oct 2023) Love them!! My kitties always look amazing after a lion cut by Angie. She took care of my Princess Peasue (aka Whisper) for many years and now that we have a new Persian, Princess Jasmine, we are back to see Angie again.
I take my mini poodle, Remy, here! It’s his third or fourth time here so far? They take care of him and I haven’t had any complaints. They use Nature’s Specialties plumtastic shampoo is what we use at home too so that’s great. Remy also doesn’t love getting his nails clipped so on the first visit they couldn’t clip the last two. But on our visits after that, they got him to trust them to cut all his nails and get him all groomed! They even gave him a cute little bandana to celebrate the spring this time around. I travel all the way from South Seattle to Magnolia Paw Spa and it feels worth it so far!
My boy always looks and smells the best when we leave Magnolia Paw Spa. The staff are very helpful and communicative.
Incredible experience. Our dog usually struggles with having her nails trimmed, we’ve even been told by other places she needs to be sedated before hand. Jason is a true professional, he was able to keep her calm and trim every nail. Will absolutely be a returning customer. Thank you to the team at Magnolia Paw Spa.
Allways so kind good to my dogs file trim walk in on Thursdays are great too! Thanks again Magnolia Paw Spa your the best!
Magnolia Paw Spa has always done an incredible job with our cockapoo! They are very friendly, attentive to special requests, and do everything they can to make our anxious dog more comfortable. We have groomed with them for almost 3 years and have always had a positive experience. We will continue to recommend them to family and friends.
Took my German Shepherd in for the first time and wow he looks so good! He’s clean and they brushed him out so well. We’ve lived in Seattle for just over 2 years now and haven’t found a groomer that is willing to take the time that it takes to brush our shepherd out and Magnolia Pet Spa did just that. I got him home and did a whole body rub down and he is so soft and very little hair came out. This is huge for us especially right now with him blowing his coat. I’ve already scheduled our next appointment and am so happy to have found somewhere to take him and feel confident that he will get a good brushing.
Great people. Fudge who is not a big fan of getting bathed is now excited to go there. He always comes back smelling delicious!! Upping their game for online scheduling would be a nice add.

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
