Had the pleasure of having both of my cats stay at Kate's over a holiday break! Kate was extremely responsive regarding my check-ins and gave updates on how they were doing. I'll say they were the least stressed I've ever seen them after boarding. Would recommend 100% and will likely use her services again!
I have boarded my cat Tova with Kate twice now, and Kate has always taken great care of her. The cats are well cared for and Tova always comes back happy! (Missing me, but happy). I will be returning here in the future!
I absolutely adore this place! I am very skeptical on where I board my cat and I came across this place when I went searching. From day one, Kate has proven that she truly cares about how the cats do while in her care and how the parents feel while they are with her. I refuse to keep my baby anywhere else. If you are thinking about using her services — DO IT! Also make sure you give her plenty of advance — she can fill up pretty quickly if you forget 🤭 Thank you for all you do.
We boarded with Kate while out of town for a week. It was our kitties first time away, and we were a little nervous on how they would handle it. It couldn’t have been a better experience. Kate was so wonderful and amazing to work with. She took such great care of our little babies. We will for sure be returning the next time we need it!!
Kate watched after our cat for 3 months while we were transitioning to a new home. She was very accommodating and gave us weekly updates on how our fur baby was doing. She even adjusted his feeding schedule to ensure he didn't get fat. We definitely recommend her service and we ourselves will use her service again in the future.
This was my first time boarding my two cats and I couldn’t have asked for a better place! Kate’ Cat House was amazing about taking care of them as well as keeping me updated with how they were doing. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a spot that’ll take amazing care of your kitties while you’re away!
I cannot say enough how much I appreciate Kate’s Cat House! My kitty is shy but very sweet. I love her so much. It is really nice to leave her in such good hands and I have peace of mind. They take great care of my kitty and they are such a pleasure to work with. I will continue using them for sure! Top notch!!
Our sweet baby is a very timid cat when he’s out of his element. He doesn’t like car rides, strangers or stays at the kitty hotel. He’s also diabetic and requires 2 injections a day. Kate and Mitch have done a great job taking care of him. He had a medical situation while we were out of town and they alerted us immediately and handled it all perfectly. We highly recommend them for your fur baby too!
Kate was absolutely wonderful to work with and took such great care of my cat. Knowing my cat was in such good hands made my trip so much more enjoyable! She was incredibly easy to communicate with and went above and beyond, even being understanding when my flight was delayed and my pickup time changed. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience—she truly deserves her 5-star rating!
Wow! What can I say. I got sick and ended up in the hospital and then a care facility. I was only to border my cat, Killian, for about two weeks. That turned into close to almost 5 months!! Kate and Mike are AMAZING!!! 😻 Kate was so kind and just went above and beyond. I’ve never boarded an animal before, but my Killian means the world to me so I'm so happy he went to Kate’s. I received pictures of him and we had phone calls. Kate or Mike would come pick up the payments for him as my walking was very limited and I was mostly in a wheelchair. They were so awesome to Killian, treating him like one of their own.. and he practically was, being there that long. I am so grateful for their kindness and understanding when I told them I would have to stay longer at the facility, way longer than I had thought. If I had to board Killian again, it would be with Kate. I’d give her a million stars if I could. Thanks to both Kate and Mike!!!!

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
