Reviews
Customers express high satisfaction with the grooming services at Sydnee's, particularly praising the kindness and skill of the staff across various locations, especially in SLC and Murray. Many reviews highlight the quality of grooming, with pets leaving looking great and often receiving cute accessories like bandanas. However, there are concerns regarding handling more difficult pets, particularly cats, as one customer felt their experience was hindered by staff limitations. Overall, while many customers recommend Sydnee's for dog grooming and commend the friendly atmosphere, they advise caution for cat grooming due to potential staffing issues.
I love sydnees SLC location, they are very kind and always do an amazing groom job! However I do not recommend the Centerville location, my 4 lbs cockapoo got lice that was a nightmare to try and remove and had a cotton ball left in his ear. The groomer did give us a call and apologized very sincerely for what happened clearly upset. If you chose sydnees use the SLC or Murray location as they are super wonderful and a lot cleaner! The groomers loved when I brought him in! He was disabled in his back legs as he had luxating patella so it was hard to find a reliable groomer for him but I could trust them to to not only cute haircuts but safe ones. He has since passed away but they did beautiful haircuts on him up until his passing ❤️❤️
***Edited after owners response** I am not on the wrong location. I brought my cat to this location and this is what I was told from your groomer. Instead of assuming I wrote this under the wrong location, maybe talk to your staff about why I was told this. I made an appointment to get my cat groomed, and I picked here because they had good reviews relating to cat grooming. After dropping him off I got a call 2 hours later saying they weren't able to groom him because he kept going into "attack mode" and I needed to come get him. When I got there she told me that he would wiggle and then hiss and she had to take all hissing seriously. I understand the safety of the employees is important, but you are a pet grooming salon, how can you not handle a cat being upset? I mean its a cat, of course they don't want to be groomed. For such high ratings I thought they would be able to handle my cat, but they mostly just wasted my time. She also told me that he could probably get groomed if there was someone else to help hold him correctly, and she was the only one there that has cat grooming experience. If thats the case that should be put on their website that they can't handle "difficult" cats due to low staffing. I'm giving 2 stars because they were very nice, but overall I wouldn't go here with your cat, just a waste of time.
I bring my dog here regularly and they do great work. Scheduling, drop off and pick up are easy. He always leaves with the cutest bandana and a fresh groom. Everyone is friendly and prices are fair. They are quick to address any concerns. They also just started giving adorable report cards for how the visit went. Thanks to all the staff at Sydnees for taking care of my dog!
I brought my new puppy here for the first time this morning, and they made me feel so comfortable with leaving him there. He was so happy afterwards and he looked great! I called later in the day because his nails were still SO sharp and I was curious if they were able to cut them or not, and they were so apologetic (even though I truly was not upset!) and offered for us to come back in to file them down. We were in and out in 5 minutes, and they were so kind and took such good care of him since he was a little scared. I cannot wait to bring him back here next month!!

We sincerely appreciate keeping our pets stylish and happy with each visit to this amazing establishment!
All I can say is wow!! Amazing job. Worth every penny my dog has never looked so good and clean. I had been grooming my dog myself the past two years but decided to give this groomer a shot- definitely coming back!
Syndee’s did a great job of my mini-doodle’s groom. Jenny is AWESOME. She was experienced in the groom of the doodle and even was able to accommodate my request for ‘longer hair on top’. They accommodated letting him play with the other dogs while waiting. Be specific when checking in for your wants/needs regarding grooming, they will hear you. Thank you Jenny!
I’ve been taking my pup here for a while now. They always do a decent job. The results are sometimes inconsistent. He always looks good, but “teddy bear cut” seems to mean something different to each stylist. Today his eye brows were left a little heavy. But given the convenient online scheduling and their Saturday hours, it makes getting him groomed much easier.
We love the quality and service at Sydnees. Our dogs always look great and are excited to go
About a year ago I took my Rough Collie to Sydnee’s for the first time and wasn’t too happy with the results. Management called me and talked to me about how they could make it right, which I really appreciated. Since then, my collie has been in twice more for his bi-annual grooming and they just keep getting better! Today, Deatte did his grooming. I spoke with her when I dropped him off about what I wanted and I felt she really listened and asked clarification questions. When I picked him up, he was groomed perfectly following what I wanted and he looks SO GOOD. He is so soft, he smells wonderful, and she got all of his shedding undercoat out. I am so happy with his grooming today and I really appreciate Deatte and all the work she did! I’m so glad I gave Sydnee’s another chance after the first time!

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
