Reviews

Customer reviews of City Pet Club reflect a mixed bag of experiences, with many praising the staff's genuine care and dedication to pets, leading to high levels of satisfaction among several pet owners. Positive feedback highlights the facility's cleanliness, accommodating nature, and the enjoyable experiences their pets have while there, including the ability to watch them via cameras. However, several customers reported significant issues, such as reservations being lost, neglect of basic hygiene for cats, and changes in staff leading to a lack of familiarity that caused concern for some long-time clients. Overall, while many customers recommend City Pet Club for its friendly and attentive service, there are notable complaints that indicate inconsistencies in care and communication, which could affect overall customer retention.

Phenomenal staff made my dog's first stay at the club fantastic. It is clear the staff genuinely care about the experience the pets have at the Club! My good boy made a lot of staff buddies, and a couple four legged friends in the couple days he spent with them. I would highly recommend the City Pet Club, and want to give a big thank you for the kind, accommodating and professional experience they delivered.

We had been bringing our husky here for daycare/boarding for 4 years. And she absolutely loved it and we loved every single one of the staff. She would normally be boarded here once a month. We had a family emergency and needed 1 night of boarding, yes it was on short notice. The new owner and staff just said "no, we are putting a stop to drop off boarding." I understand the need for new policies, but a warning (and maybe a one time pass) regarding this would have helped and alleviated the additional stress this brought to our situation. We have since pulled her from this facility and have found a new daycare/boarding facility.

I've left my cat here several times for several weeks at a time while traveling over the years. He always returns healthy and safe, so that's the biggest compliment. They are also accommodating when my travel schedule changes. My only request would be that City Pet Club send reports/updates to owners proactively. If you need a safe place to look after your pet, I can definitely recommend them.

These guys are the worst. We took our dog in for boarding on the way to the airport. Get there and the girl behind the desk was a total brat and told us they didn’t have our reservation. We had verified our reservation in person and on the phone three times because the previous time we boarded her they lost our reservation. Well we ended up missing our flight because of this whole thing. Luckily found another boarding place down the road but had to pay a few hundred dollars in change fees for our flight. Not even an apology for losing our reservation for the second time. Garbage experience. I’ve been boarding my Great Danes here since like 2011. Never again

We love City Pet Club. The doggo lives it too. Great that you can watch on the cameras and see your canine pal playing with all the new friends.

I made the mistake of trying to trim my dogs fur on my own. Thank goodness for Alex and Tyler saving the day! They listened when I said I had ruined him and they’d need a miracle to make him look normal again but I also gave them permission to do whatever they wanted as long as it wasn’t floofy and Karenlapdog-ish. Not only did they save his dignity but also made him the coolest little badass in the house! My other dogs are jealous and may need to be next. Definitely going to them for all my future pet needs! Thanks again!

I am deeply disappointed with the care provided to my cat, Kitty, during her stay at this facility from June 15-23. When I picked her up on June 23rd, the attendant mentioned she was "a little dirty." However, upon arriving home, I was appalled to find her in a state of severe neglect. Feces and litter were caked onto her paws and embedded between her toes, causing her significant discomfort and an unbearable smell. It took me three days to thoroughly clean her. This neglect indicates a failure to maintain her litter box and ensure her basic hygiene. Despite my request for nail trimming, which was done, it is clear that her poor condition was noticed but not addressed before returning her to me. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of care and attention Kitty received. This experience has led me to lose confidence in this facility's ability to provide the necessary care for pets. I reached out through email about my concerns. I received a reply from the facility manager who had been out of town. She said she would reach out the next day. I’ve never heard back from her.

We just boarded our two sphynx cats for a week and are SO impressed with City Pet Club. I was nervous to board them because we have never boarded them before, but we will definitely be bringing them back! The facility is very clean and smells clean, the staff is extremely friendly, especially Lindley. She knew I was nervous and kept in contact with me throughout the week, even sending pictures of the kitties. I was confident that they were safe and in great hands while we were away. I really can’t say enough good things about this business and highly recommend to anyone looking to board their pets. Thank you again City Pet Club!

My family has brought our lab mix here since she was a puppy. Recently she came home with a puncture, and has been nervous entering the building for daycare, ( something she was always excited for ) I used to be well acquainted with the staff there for a long time, but I've noticed that i no longer recognize any of the staff. I am not sure what happened, but I think I will start looking elsewhere for my dog care needs.

We love City Pet Club and board our dogs here. It's great that we can sign via web in and watch our dogs Nikko, Trooper and Tino playing and roaming around. The facility is great with large indoor/outdoor areas. Very clean. The staff is totally dedicated and take great care of our dogs. Lindley is the bomb! Highly recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
