I have a small dog with a big attitude named Shadow and I find it hard to take him places, but it's always a wonderful time bringing him here! When I come to pick him up he's always the happiest boy and he loves all of the folks there. They're super friendly and professional with great skills! I live a bit farther away from them now but I'll never take my boy Shadow anywhere else now that we've found the best groomers for him and his attitude.
I’ve consulted a whole bunch of groomers in the area for pricing, location, and schedule alignment. Caro who is Nyla’s normal groomer does a wonderful job each time. The price is fair, the location is great, and they have a lot of availability. Recently I missed my appointment and Caro got me rescheduled but I believe with a different groomer. I didn’t speak to the other groomer and she groomed my pup exactly how I like! Nyla always arrives and leaves happy and excited from Cosmo Tail’s. Positive things about Cosmo Tail’s that stand out more than other groomers: it’s in its own location in a home remodeled to become a grooming salon, it’s in SLC so it’s not too far from me, their pricing is competitive and unbeatable (for a full groom med dog (40lb)), Caro and groomers are sweet, efficient with their time, and the quality of their work is above all others!
Caro is the best groomer we’ve ever had. My dogs and I were so sad when she left our old groomer and I am so happy we found her again. I love her, my dogs love her, and they always come home looking perfect. So so good. Highly recommend.
Took my 1.5y/o Sheepadoodle to get groomed here - her 3rd grooming ever and 1st with Caro. This was BY FAR our best experience. My girl looks so good and left so happy (unlike previous experiences at other places). Can’t thank or recommend Caro & Cosmo’s enough for taking such good care of my baby girl!
Clara came highly recommended and she didn't disappoint!! She took such good care of my corgi and was super patient with him. He looks so handsome!! He even left with a spiffy looking bandana and a doggy bag!!
I have had animals with pet groomers for years and Caro is above and beyond the best groomer I’ve encountered. She truly loves the animals and she has that extra connection with them so my pets have never been nervous going in for their spa day. She shaves both my dog and cat for the summer with style and they know they look good.
I’ve been taking my dog to Caro since he was a puppy. She treats all the dogs like her own. He gets so excited to go see Caro and get a bath! I recommend her to all my friends or anyone who asks where to take their dogs to get a wonderful bath and groom! 10/10, thank you Caro!!
You will not regret taking your pup here. They have excellent service, reasonable prices, and they are just exceptional at what they do. My dog, Rory, leaves so happy and cute everytime. They truly care about what they do and I'm so thankful to have found them!!
Caro has been grooming our dogs since they were pups. She is so sweet and amazing with them she left our other grooming place and we and our dogs were so sad. I was so happy when I found her again. Our dogs were so happy to see her. They love her so much! Don’t go anywhere else!
Took my French bulldog here, he had so much hair and they were able to de-shed him and get him all cleaned up. Super friendly, trustworthy and reasonably priced. He saw Kiara and we’ll definitely be repeat customers.

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
