New dog for me, rescued from a puppy mill. He has been terrified! He was very rough looking. Ash took extra time with him and was very gentle. I am so pleased and grateful with the care and kindness they gave to him. Already have his next appointment!

I had a fantastic experience at BBB! I adopted a cat this very Tuesday and was able to book an appointment within the week! My kitty had been haphazardly shaved before I got her but they were able to do a perfect job! Since I didn’t know how she would react I was so nervous but BBB was so patient with me and my cat! I got my car fixed right down the road during the appointment and they were so accommodating to both my cat and my needs! Before and after is a huge difference!

They did a great job with my dogs cut, first time customer. I am a little disappointed in the fact that they charged me 17$ for a late pick up fee when they never messaged the number that was provided to them in the form or when they asked if this was the right number. They texted a completely different number. How was that my fault? Originally they had said 2-3 hrs, dropped my dog off at 1pm and said, “it should give me time to get her by 4pm” well at 2pm she was ready. They never stated 1-4 hrs so that’s another one of their mess ups. Poor communication on staff therefore should have not been charged the 17$ late fee. Then an admin fee for who knows what. So a 75$ cut turned into 102.49$ for a 4.7 lbs dog.

This place is so awesome. First I want to say I have never seen a shop so clean. It was so impressive when I walked in. The people who work there are so kind and caring. They treated my dog with such loving care. She seemed very comfortable there. Her haircut was so very cute. I could not have asked for anything better. I will definitely be back, and I will tell everyone that I know about how good this place is. Thanks again, Brush Bath and Beyond!!!

Alivia is the best! I have been bringing my sweetest boy there for 3 years since I moved to SLC. Oliver was not blind but became blind after we were here for a year and a few months, and I have been bringing him to the same groomer, Alivia, the entire time. My 14 1/2 y/o Cava/tzu is usually so scared to get his groom but he loves Alivia and he ALWAYS looks so handsome and smells amazing and feels so soft!! The staff is warm and caring as well. So happy I found them!

I had a fantastic experience at Brush Bath and Beyond! The front desk made us feel welcome. This was my puppy’s first time at the groomer, and Erica, our groomer, was wonderful! She took her time to explain grooming recommendations, offer helpful suggestions, and make sure my puppy felt comfortable throughout the process. I’m very happy with how the grooming went—thank you for making it such a positive experience for both of us. Highly recommend!

Amazing staff, amazing job. Ericka is amazing! She did such a great job and was so quick! A bit expensive tho 😬 paid more to get my dog washed and his face, paws, nails and butt trimmed than I do getting all that plus a full hair cut/shave at other places.

I took my 2 long haired pups to be groomed basically for the first time at 18 months of age. I was so nervous about what their experience would be and appreciated that both groomers took the time to talk with me to be sure we were on the same page and educate me about services. James and Emily put my fears and concerns at ease and were so nice to my pups! When I picked them up I couldn’t stop smiling because they were so darn cute!!! Daisy and Rolo had a good experience for sure as when saying good bye, they were both cuddling and licking their groomer. We will be back💫

We had a great experience here. Our baby Lucky was matted and needed to be shaved. He ended up looking very cute. It didn't take as long as it usually takes to have him groomed at other places. The facility was nice and clean. All the people who work there were kind and chilled out. We are definitely going to be coming back!

The team has always been incredible with my pup. Been taking him to the SLC city BBB since he was about 5 months old! Shout out to Jen who gave us the cute Christmas ornament, love locally handmade items! Also look at how great Bree left Sol! Looks adorable. Shout out to James who also supported in the process! My pup is recovering from a not so great experience at a Petco groomer never going back there! Thank you and appreciate you all for the care and amazing staff! So glad y’all expanded to a bigger location!

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
