Reviews
Customers highly praise Debbie and her grooming service at Urban Aristocats for their professionalism, exceptional quality of care, and understanding of feline needs. Many reviews highlight Debbie's expertise in handling nervous or difficult cats without the need for sedation, which significantly reduces stress for both the pets and their owners. The promise of thorough communication and appointment scheduling further enhances customer satisfaction, as clients appreciate the minimized waiting time and the personalized attention given to each cat. However, one negative review regarding nail trimming raises concerns about inconsistency in service quality, but overwhelmingly, the feedback is positive, with many customers expressing their loyalty and willingness to travel distances for Debbie's grooming services.
My first visit with my rescue cat- fantastic! Debby professionally bathed and groomed my long-haired cat with care and expertise. Start to finish= 1 hour. Cost=$105. I think this price is fair for the service received. I had to wait 6 weeks to get an appointment, but communication is done online and is very thorough and accurate. Bonus- vaccination proof not necessary since there is only one cat at a time inside the facility. Older, indoor cats do not need annual vaccines. ( I'm a licensed veterinary technician; read the published studies for your own knowledge re vaccines for dogs and cats.)
I have been taking my cat, Stella, to Debby for years! It is so hard to find a quality cat groomer who understands cats and makes sure they’re well taken care of while getting groomed. Debby checks all the boxes and she truly cares about her work. Stella gets a bath, nails trimmed, a sanitary groom, and a beautiful blowout. She is always so soft and fluffy and looks her best!
We’ve been taking our cat to see Debbie for 5+ years now. We have moved around the metroplex and tried other places for her but were never satisfied. Even when we live 30+ minutes away, we still take our cat to be groomed by Debbie. She’s the best !
Debbie did such an amazing job grooming my cat Auggie. I was a bit nervous at first because my cat is very old and has some medical issues but Debbie is very knowledgeable in cats and was very careful with her. This was also the first time my cat was ever professionally groomed and she is so soft and fluffy now! I can’t wait to take her back ❤️ Worth the drive all the way from Grand Prairie!
Debbie is a cat guru/whisperer! I have two Maine Coons. One is a little scared and timid when it comes to grooming, but the other one has always been terrified. We used to live in Minneapolis, and the one cats only groomer I found there did a good job, but we still had to have our terrified kitty sedated when he was groomed. When I first spoke with Debbie, she said she preferred that we not sedate him, at least for the first appointment, because she wanted to gain his trust. I was skeptical, but agreed to it. At their first appointment with Debbie, both of my Maine Coons were fully groomed with no problems and no sedation. When I got them home, they both acted calm and normal - not exhausted, like they used to after a grooming appointment. And Debbie will do what is best for your kitty - even if it means she does a less expensive service rather than up-charging for a more time-consuming and expensive service (I know this because I asked for something more expensive and time-consuming the first time, and she told me she didn't think it was necessary - in the end, she was right). I think it also helps a lot that there are no other cats in the grooming space when Debbie is grooming. My cats have seen her twice now. I live an hour away, and my cats don't love being in the car, but I will most definitely continue bringing them to Debbie!
Wonderful customer service and excellent grooming! After trying another cat grooming place in the metroplex and being incredibly disappointed in their surly attitude, I googled to see what else was out there. Urban Aristocats came up and though it's not close I figured it was worth the drive. What I thought was really great is that you get to make an appointment...unheard of! Other cat owners will understand that at other groomers you typically drop your cat off first thing in the morning and wait and wait and wait to hear when they're ready to pick up. Not here! You get an appointment and you get your furry monster back in an hour or two. My kitty received a standard groom with a sani shave, not a lion cut or anything like that, so your time may vary. I just loved that the appointment meant less stress for the cat. As great as all of the above is, the customer service was really what sold me on this place. I left feeling very reassured that my cat was in good hands and that they truly cared about her. TL;DR Perks compared to other places: - FRIENDLY! - Adorable shop cats to pet - You make an appointment instead of dropping your cat off first thing in the morning and waiting all day for a call. - The sani cut includes a shave down the inside of the legs, which is GREAT for my long-haired cat.
Debbie did a stellar job with my long-haired cat! My cat Ginger had multiple mats on her back; she was so uncomfortable, she didn't want to be pet :( Multiple groomers have told me my cat was too spicy and had to be sedated/drugged before even being considered for a groom, but Debbie reassured me that she never found that necessary and would love to groom my cat as is. Ginger was so nervous the entire car ride to Debbie's, but came out the most calm and happy I have seen her in a long time. Her coat looks so shiny and light and I am so happy to have found Debbie!!
Wow. I have two rescue tabbies Theo (9 years old) and Vicky (5 years old) they're 100% house cats who rarely leave the house. I typically take them to the vet to get their annual shots, for a check up and to groom all in one day. Theo is the definition of a scaredy cat and it's a whole mess even getting him into the carrier. He's typically sedated when he's being groomed at the vet because he becomes aggressive, he begins to salivate, and becomes very agitated which is always a cause to worry because his little heart can literally stop. Well I read reviews about Debbie and people having similar issues and let me tell you... she amazed me. His hair was completely matted and she not only groomed him without anesthesia, she didn't shave him, and saved his hair. He was also much less stressed when I picked him up, which surprised me! She truly made both of them have a quick and positive experience. I am so glad I gave her a try. Just a side note: Vicky is my easy going baby so I wasn't concerned about her at all, but now they both look and feel so clean! We just became regulars and recommend Debbie and Urban Aristocats to anyone with Furbabies like mine!
Ive tried 2 groomers until now. Both had 5 star ratings and a lot of reviews. Im not going back to the other place! There was a night and day difference between them. I would never have gone to the other place but we had an emergency. Glad we did though cause now we know Debbie is the only one for us. The cats were super calm afterwards, properly dried, smelled amazing and she was able to calm the wild child in front of us just by holding him a specific way. Debbie also had great advice for first time cat owners and to this day I follow her advice, never going anywhere else ever again. Thank you Debbie for being amazing!
I took both of my cats there and it seemed pretty nice place to go to, but after i got home I noticed that they cut my Maine Coon’s nails on her back paws way too much that she was bleeding.. they didn’t even mention anything to me about it when i went to pick them up.. I definitely don’t recommend going there.

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
