Reviews

Overall, customer satisfaction at Oak Clips Pet Boutique is mixed, with a significant number of positive reviews praising the grooming quality, friendly and attentive staff, and the overall experience for pets. Many customers expressed satisfaction with their pets' grooming results, particularly highlighting the staff's professionalism and willingness to accommodate specific requests. However, there are serious concerns raised by a few customers about the handling of pets during grooming, with allegations of injuries and poor communication regarding incidents. This stark difference in experiences suggests that while many customers return and recommend the service, the shop needs to address its operational issues and improve its communication regarding pet care and mishaps.

They did a great job on Lily’s hair. This was her first haircut and she came out looking cute and clean. We will definitely be coming back for all her grooming needs.

We took our corgi to this place for a grooming appointment and it all worked great! She looked great and seemed happy. I don’t give 5 stars only because I had to drive down to make an appointment in person since I couldn’t reach this business via phone or website. The store looks a bit empty and chaotic at the moment and not very welcoming. Nevertheless, we were very happy with their services!

If I could give a zero, I would! I’m so livid! I literally have cried about my baby. Today was Nola’s 1st time at this particular place. I had card issues so a friend paid over the phone and I proceeded to pick Nola up. I was not made aware of what had happened. I gave them freedom to cut her however they see fit, just make sure it’s cute and low. Besides the botched cut job. No one informed me that a blood vessel was ruptured in her eye. I just so happened to see it when we got to the car. All I received was a sorry “she didn’t like getting her nails trimmed and she scratched her eye” I forgot to say because it was paid over the phone. I said can I get a copy of the report? “We don’t have a report ma’am” and that is all! She is almost 3 years old and has had plenty groomings, and this I never heard of before. It looks more like, she was maybe poked in the eye with the trimmers or something. The front desk lady was nice but I feel like something else should have been done or mentioned to me beforehand. 0/10 do not recommend! I’m sooo freaking upset!

First time visit for pup Bella. And they'll did a fabulous job on her. VERY NICE AS WELL. AND THEY'LL stay busy. Great place to get your fur babies groomed and buy them a snack or food. They'll also carry leashes, dog outfits, shampoos, etc. In the ❤️ of Oak Cliff.

I brought 2 dogs in for grooming, they are both uneven and my maltese was CUT in several places my shihtzu ears aren't even brushed both of their hair is uneven and their coats are choppy and a list of other issues. This was the worst choice. They don't show u the dogs until after u pay. Someone needs to call me back I left 2 voicemails, even though they answered before.

Worse place to take your Dog Child, they injure and will not take ownership of the mistake. My dog had bruising on his eyelid and literally eyeballs were red like if they had punched him. I took him to the vet and told the owner and asked her to pay for the fees and she refused since didn’t say anything at the time of pick up. Never had an issue with them so it didn’t occur to me to check my child for injuries. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE !

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
