Reviews

Customer reviews for Kibble Pet Grooming present a mix of experiences, reflecting significant discrepancies in service quality and overall satisfaction. Many patrons express frustration over poor communication and inconsistent grooming results, with several instances of dogs receiving unsatisfactory cuts or experiencing mishandling during grooming, leading to emotional distress for the owners. In contrast, some customers rave about their positive experiences, highlighting attentive and caring staff who take pride in their work, providing excellent grooming results and fostering a welcoming environment. This duality suggests a need for improved consistency in service and customer engagement, as some clients report feeling ignored or unsupported when resolving issues. Overall, satisfaction is polarized, with both highly positive and deeply negative reviews presenting a complex picture of the grooming experience at Kibble.

Went in today to get both my dogs groomed. I showed the groomer several pictures of what I was expecting because we had several holiday pictures coming up. When I came to pick up my dog, there was no one there at the front desk. It said call a specific number to get in contact with the groomer. When I called the number, the phone in front of me started ringing where obviously she would not hear. So I decided to wait till I could eventually get her attention. During this time I could hear the groomer loudly telling the another dog (not mine) stop and no repeatedly while she was grooming it. I thought that was a bit odd for her to be speaking that loudly to a dog. After about 10 minutes she finally realizes I’m there because my dogs could see me in the window and comes to sign me out. She had beats over the ear headphones on and tells me she doesn’t know how to work the phone? She tells me she couldn’t do my smaller dogs nails cause he tried to bite her. He’s never tried to bite any groomer before and has been to this location several times without incident so now I’m wondering if she was yelling at him in a similar way to where he was fearful. She also said another dog already tried to bite her that day so now I’m sensing a pattern… I take my dogs to leave and I notice how poorly cut my larger dogs ears are in the car, they were already cut shorter than discussed and now I noticed they’re uneven and we decide to go back in to see if she would rectify it. Again I’m in there for another 10 minutes trying to get her attention and she never hears me in the front. I call the repeatedly, saying hello repeatedly before I just leave frustrated. I tried reaching out to the location via social media. I even called the other location to see there was a manager that supervised both locations. I was never contacted to rectify the issue and will now have to pay someone else to correct it before they get dirty and I have to pay for a full new bath. Very disappointed. I’ve referred people to this location and raved about how much I love the cuts and this has completely turned me off. I’ve added picture and if you look closely I’m literally in their lobby while taking them.

I wish I could give them ZERO stars. i got charge $177 for the groomer to not even bath my dog. My dog was matted, he still had poop clumps on his bum so they didn’t groom him there either. he smells terrible. and the worst part is that I ALWAYS call to make appointments. They answer. I’ve left several voicemails now and have been calling daily. All rod a sudden they don’t answer? PLEASE do not go to Kibble. None of the locations. It will ruin your dogs grooming experience and quite frankly yours too.ive included the photos of what I had to cut out of his bum and his before and after which shows.. NO DIFFERENCE.

I wanted to share my positive experience with Kibble Pet Grooming, as it has consistently been excellent. The staff are always friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure that both my pet and I feel comfortable. They've also informed me about some skin issues my pug has had in the past, which I genuinely appreciate. The transparency and kindness at Kibble Pet have earned my trust, and I highly recommend them for any pet-related needs. Just to clarify, I wasn't bribed to write this review, unlike some disgruntled customers I have seen act out in the store recently. I posted this review because I found a certain person's review to be inaccurate. I was there during the debacle. Please take those negative reviews with a grain of salt, as they may be driven by anger rather than truth. This salon handles a lot of challenging situations, and I am consistently amazed at how calm and kind the staff remain. You'll likely feel the same. Give them a try; you won't be disappointed!

The team at Kibble Pet Grooming is the best! They are very nice to me and my wife, but more importantly, they take such good care of our pups. All five of our dogs always leave happy and smelling great.

Listen, this place is so expensive for a small dog. My baby is a mini pin mix. My bb is 10 lb his extra small ( they charged me ( S ) 😒 PRO’s (His hair coat is amazing. I will be doing it again when he has extra extra extra extra …. dirty hair because it is amazing how his hair feels(and smells so good). I will be back only when we come back from a camping trip. I wish the price was less expensive like 50 for small dogs I will come all the time. But yes very expensive. ( they’re quick customer service very great! )

Kibble Pet Grooming (The Hill location) has gone downhill. We had an 8:30am appointment today (12/4/2024), and no one showed up until 9am. Employee acknowledged opening 30 minutes late and offered no apology. This is the SECOND time this location opened late for one of our morning appointments. Then during the check-in, the employee, who would be grooming my dog, had no clue how to correctly interpret the notes for grooming preference and stated that the photo kept for reference in the past was nowhere to be found. When taking your dog to the groomer becomes a job, it's simply not worth it. - - - Update to review (12/4/2024 @ 6:30pm): Take note that two 5-Star reviews were left two hours after I posted my negative review. It’s almost if Kibble Pet Grooming offered a discount to other customers in exchange for a positive review. And the kicker?… no one from Kibble Pet Grooming attempted to reach out to me to apologize for my experience. Instead they apparently bribed other customers for reviews. - - - Update to review (12/5/2024 @ 12:10pm): "Melissa Private" posted a positive review about 10 minutes ago and claimed to be in the store when I was there. Unless Melissa was the employee, this is plainly false as there were two other customers with pets, neither of which was a pug. Also note that the owner replied to a recent 5-star review about 15 minutes ago. The timing is suspect. And to restate the kicker, still no one from Kibble Pet Grooming has attempted to reach out to me to apologize for my experience. This time I know the owner has seen my review and chosen not to engage directly, which is fine. Just realize if you have an issue, don't expect them to correct it, let alone apologize.

I have an admittedly difficult standard poodle named Gus, and Nicole did a wonderful job on his cut! Beforehand she came and sat down with me and Gus on the floor because he is very anxious at the groomers (due to a previous bad groomer) and walked through every step of his cut and what we wanted. Four hours later I came to pick him up and he looked wonderful!! We will be back 🫶🏼

I brought my beloved three-year-old maltipoo here for grooming, emphasizing the importance of maintaining her signature ponytail in both verbal and written instructions. Despite my clear communication, the groomer not only trimmed her ponytail but also attempted to overcharge me based on her weight. Despite my distress, the only response I received was a mere apology. This experience left me deeply disappointed and in tears. I urge others to proceed with caution and consider alternative grooming options. (Attachments included for reference.)

I don't write reviews, but I am appalled by the ignorance at this place. Girlfriend dropped off the dog for a cut. Spoke with the new manager Elizabeth AND the groomer to go over it. Girlfriend told them she likes to keep him long but also chose one of the lengths on their board (like she was asked to do) WHILE saying we like him on the longer side. We are not pet groomers. Clarification regarding the length is the responsibility of the groomer if you ask me. They talked, the groomer said he wasn't matted, so won't be a problem. Everyone came to an agreement. When she picked him up we found this mess. Practically shaved, head is choppy and oddly shaped, completely different looking than any other time I've had him cut. I spoke to Elizabeth myself after my girlfriend was too shocked and timid to say anything. After two conversations, I was told by Elizabeth that he was matted and we didn't brush him enough so they had to cut him short (despite my telling her that we had brushed him every day this week in anticipation for his cut), then I was told that we chose this length. Two different excuses for how terrible this haircut came out. They have a surcharge for matting, I didn't get charged nor asked about matting once he was there. I would have gladly paid to correct matting. They just ran with it and gave him back this way. I have added photos of how cute he is when his hair is cut correctly, how cute he is when he doesn't have his hair cut in a while, and the botch job they gave me. You can decide which is which. I see other one star reviews. Looks like I'm not the first one to deal with this. TLDR: terrible haircut, tried to blame me and my girlfriend in two different contradicting ways, won't concede that they are at fault.

Our groomer left her job during the pandemic and I needed to find a new one. I'm so happy I found Kibble Pet. I read a lot of groomer reviews and chose them because they are well rated and close to home. Maci was our groomer and my dog looks lovely. She is clean, shiny and smells great! The salon is spotless, the staff is kind, detailed, and caring. They understand that your dog is part of your family. I recommend Kibble Pet and Maci.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
