Where do I start? Moxie is AMAZING! I’ve been looking for someone to take Elio to and we had the best experience. I had tried a mobile groomer before this and booked for a bath and cut etc. All they did was give him a belly shave and I was really disappointed not receiving what I asked for. Coming to Moxie was the total opposite and my boy looks so handsome. Thank you for being so kind, gentle, and amazing at your work!! I didn’t leave until I rescheduled! Please take your kitty to Moxie you won’t regret it!
If you are looking for an amazingly professional, caring and knowledgeable person for your precious baby you MUST schedule with Moxie! I have a cat who is 6 years old that has had matting issues in the past. I tried every brush and comb I could find to help him but he hated them all. Initially, I reached out to the groomer at my vet. They required sedation for grooming cats. Because of the horrible mats and him not liking to be brushed/combed I understood this seemed best. He got a lion’s cut every 6 months for a couple years. I started to wonder how many times my cat should be sedated like this. Then at his last appointment when I picked him up one pupil was much larger than the other. They had the vet check him out and we were told he was ok and it will return to normal on its’ own. It did eventually though it took time and his behavior was a little off for this time as well. We knew this method was not an option anymore so we searched and found Moxie. I cannot express how amazing Moxie is! She is a cat whisperer extraordinaire! She has experience with master level certifications grooming cats. The care she showed our sweet boy has been unmatched. His chill behavior showed me he liked her as much as I do. She will explain the entire process. Upon request she went over feeding, travel carriers, grooming tools etc. She explained he won’t even need all the shaving he was getting. She removed mats at this appointment but the goal is keep him maintained as to not have to shave him so much in the future. After the service he was super chill in the car and not meowing the entire time home. Because he gets anxious in the car she suggested a pet CBD that I have since purchased and will be trying before our next visit. She has a plethora of handmade bowties and neckties for your baby after they are clean and pampered. I booked our next appointment before I left and will continue to use Moxie furever! She is in the process of creating an amazing space for pet parents to wait. Even though not complete waiting at her location was a mini vacation for me. Kudos if you’ve read this far! Seriously, there is no need to put this appointment off like I did! Book with Moxie at LA Paws! P.S. this is week four past groom and he still looks amazing!
Our babies loved their “spaw” day! It has been almost two weeks later, and they both still smell fresh and clean, their fur is so soft, and our baby with matted fur has a new lease on life now that she’s been freed of the fur that binds. 😉 Our only regret is not doing this service sooner! ❤️ Moxie was extremely helpful when guiding us through our first cat groom, and now we know from first hand experience…your cat really does need the damn bath! We will be back for more.
Your precious kitty is in great hands here! My senior Persian cat had a lot of matting and Moxie did an excellent job getting him back in good shape, handled his arthritis with care, and got him comfortable and happy again!Even with his sweet and spicy moments during the service! The property is very nice and extremely accommodating while you wait!
My senior kitty has never been groomed before because I have always been able to keep his long hair in check, but after having my first baby his hair started to get matted and I couldn't get control of it. I was looking for a cat groomer and I came across LA Pawz! Madame Moxie is amazing in everyway. She was super professional and educated amd she knew exactly what needed to be done with my old boy. Her hospitality was out of this world! She has a beautiful gome and property that you can walk on, a gym you can work out in, and a pool that in warmer seasons you can swim in. She offered us snacks and a variety of beverages while we waited. It took a couple hours but it was worth every minute and every cent. Her price was great to for what she had to do. She ended up having to shave most of his hair do to the mats but he is so soft and so much happier! If I could give her more stars I would! She is worth the distance no matter where you are driving from. Don't hesitate taking your cat/ cats to her you won't be disappointed!
After searching high and low for a groomer who I felt comfortable with I found Moxie. Our Ragdoll, Roxi, was in dire need of a professional who specialized in grooming kitties. Roxi had developed mats on her chest and under her front legs which she refused to let me brush. Moxie came to the rescue. She did a fantastic job. I honestly didn't think she would be able to handle this sassy feline because she hates to be brushed even without having tangles. But I was wrong. Moxie knew exactly what to do and in no time flat Roxi was gorgeous, clean, and mat free! I can't say enough about LA Pawz. They are absolutely the best!
I got the MOST Caring and Professional Service for my 14+ year old senior, long-haired cat, who was matted on his belly, from Moxie at LAPAWZ Cat Grooming. It was a huge relief to me that my cat was so well taken care of, Moxie is truly a cat whisperer, she Loves what she does and it shows! She also accommodates us humans while we wait with light snacks, drinks, TV and Internet service. She is certified in cat grooming, very knowledgeable, answered all of my questions and gave me tips on grooming and using the best combs and brushes to take care of my cat at home, I learned so much from her. My cat looked and felt SO much better afterwards and is doing great. I was so impressed, that I took my other senior cat with health issues and a nervous, elusive temperament, to her the following week. I did a light, calming sedation before traveling, I was amazed when she told me how well he did, gently introducing him to the surroundings, bath and grooming equipment, giving him breaks when needed. he also got a belly shave from matting, nail trim which is included, a bath which removed all of the dead hair, and he feels better and is so clean! He is now much more manageable, and I can keep up with both of them with some daily grooming. I will gladly drive the 45 minutes to take my cats to Moxie for grooming, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND LAPAWZ for the excellent experience my cat and I received!
I brought my cat in who was in desperate need of a clean and she looks amazing! Her coat looks healthy again and she looks happy about it also. Moxie is wonderful. She gave great recommendations on diet and continued care. Im excited to see the shop she is building. I will be back and recommending to friends! Thank you!
Just had a great experience with LA Pawz! Moxie is fantastic! She was able to groom both of my 6-year old cats (both first-timers), one after the other. Both are pretty fussy and squirmy so I wasn’t sure how well it would go but she was able to get the job done and both cats came out looking so much cleaner, happier and cooler! I’ll definitely be booking again! Update: Another great experience with LA Pawz today! Second grooming about 6 weeks after the first one. Things went faster this time just as Moxie told me they would since the initial de-shedding of all of the old, congested fur last time. Since our long-haired flat-faced boy likes to dunk his entire head in his water bowl, I requested a mutton-chop cut lol So stylish! He looks like Lemmy from Motörhead! 😹 He'll definitely stay drier now. But best of all, I've been able to vacuum half as often since there have been much fewer balls of cat hair on our carpets and our neurotic short-haired girl has had much fewer hairballs! That alone is well worth it! Also, they always look so cute afterwards with their little festive bows! 🎀 Update #2: Just want to reiterate that after working with Moxie for over a year, her groomings continue to be one of the best things I’ve ever done for my cats! In addition to dealing with less cat hair all over our home, our cat who has a sensitive stomach and was coughing up hairballs several times a week has been almost entirely hairball-free since we started having her groomed regularly. It makes a world of difference! Moxie is also just an all around wonderful person to work with!
LA Pawz did a wonderful job! Our elderly ragdoll isn't able to groom himself as well as he used to be. Moxie helped us fix some severe matting that had formed and got us back into a position to better maintain his coat. We'll be using them regularly.

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
