So glad I found Great Paws! They are so kind & accommodating. I was able to get a last minute appointment before we had to leave for a trip. It was also Dale’s first visit to the groomer - he came back looking so cute. Most importantly he was happy and in good spirits. Thank you Great Paws for taking such great care of him!
Alison is the best! My black lab loves her and she always comes home happy and looking her best. Recommend great paws 100%.
Our Cola loves Great Paws! She is always so excited to go in, which says a lot to me! She always comes out so fluffy, gorgeous and happy! We are so happy to have found Alison! This was Colas second time getting groomed and won't be the last!
I have two very anxious pups, one is a senior Pomeranian who had matted fur. Petco couldn’t deal and had to refer me out because of how anxious my pom was. I decided to take a chance on Great Paws just to see if they could help with my special case, and I was so happy when our pet groomer came outside with each dog wagging their tales looking and smelling fresh! She had no complaints about their behavior and was able to remove the matted fur, she even gave me great advice on their dental care. The whole interaction showed how evident their care is to dogs with anxious personalities. The fact that she took the time to explain her concerns about their dental hygiene also showed me her genuine care for my dogs. Highly recommend! I’m so happy I found my new local pet grooming service! I didn’t take photos of my dogs but I’ll add some when I return ☺️
I took my puppy name Tootsie for her very first grooming appointment and I was a little bit nervous since I couldn't stay to wait for her. Alison did an excellent job with her trim and care. My dog looks so pretty and clean now plus the price was very reasonable. I will be returning.
Alison is so loving and caring. She takes pride in her services. Whenever I drop off my fur baby I know he’s in great hands and will return thoroughly cleaned and groomed. Recently we’ve tried color and it’s just the cutest thing.
Were super sweet and took amazing care of my joji! He was so happy and clean and comfortable! He had matting and stickers in his fur and they were able to clean him up efficiently. He came back more than happy
We have been taking our goldendoodle for at least the past six months. Alison is amazing to work with. She is responsive, listens, and does great work! I love how flexible they are with hours and that they’re bilingual!
Alison is great with my mini schnauzer, Charli. They recentlymoved to a beautiful location, that allows for more exciting seevices to come! I highly recommend Great Paws!
Alison is amazing! We took our 140 pound Great Pyrenees, Bill, to her. He had some badly matted fur. She worked extremely well with him to get the mats out and clean up his paws(he hates having his paws touched so she must have worked some magic). He looks amazing and his fur is so much better. I highly recommend bring your pets to her.

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
