I had a great first experience with Keeta’s and will definitely be bringing my pups here again! The location is convenient to access from 376, the booking process is incredibly easy, and both of my dogs were so soft and smelled amazing after their baths with Chrys😍

If you're looking everywhere for a nice place to get your pet-baby's hair cut, then look no farther. At Keeta's, look forward to lovely and polite service from owner Monique, and Olena the kitty hair technician is always so sweet and gentle with my Annabelle cat. She takes time to meet and get to know your pet, then gives them a fabulous little fresh-up! The store is very clean and fresh with pet clothes to purchasw and the TUNES are awesome! If you're worried about finding the place - don't be! :D I am not from the city and it is simply one right turn off of the Squirrel Hill exit. So, so easy to find and park. We're also not rich by any means and Keeta's offers the MOST affordable service without compromising quality for a second. My long-haired beauty comes home so, so soft and clean, and I don't have to worry about her hair tangling for months. THANK YOU Keeta's, thank you Monique, Olena, and Leana, you are wonderful! 😁 Annabelle's gone here several times and they've never let me down. I took my other cat here for her nails to be trimmed and they turned out fabulous. Please give Keeta's a try - I almost never post reviews out of shyness but I really wanted everybody looking for pet grooming service to know a great and affordable option was out there! <3 Hi and welcome, pet parents! P.S. You don't have to bring tons of paperwork like you do other places, either! An added bonus!

I’ve been going to Keeta’s for over a year now. Nicole is the only person I trust with my pup, and I’m very meticulous with how I want him cut and treated, especially because I do different in winter VS summer. they have it all in his file what’s they use. She is so good with him, and it’s all one on one with the stylist (Nicole). They’re not passed around or set aside waiting. Even when I have called and needed to add things onto his grooming session, the owner is who always answers the calls and she is so lovely and helpful. Definetly worth taking your dog if you want great treatmwnt, and good grooming in a safe, clean enviroment.

We took Mitzi, our long-haired cat, in for her first Feline Fresh-Up + Sanitary Trim. We picked Keeta's Pet Salon because of their very convenient location, and booking an appointment was quick and easy. We were able to schedule an appointment for Sunday morning on Friday afternoon. I was not sure what to expect -- Mitzi is a difficult kitty (anxious and energetic) who has only ever had one incomplete bath in her 6 years of life. We had attempted to trim her ourselves after an emergency poo removal operation, but decided to seek professional help instead. The appointment took longer than scheduled because she was afraid of the hair dryer -- but nonetheless, they were very thorough and we appreciate the extra time they spent with our Mitzi. Her fur was so much brighter and softer, and once she had some time to calm down at home, she seemed cheerful. Nearly a week later, she still smells fresh and I am no longer terrified of the thought of her sitting on our kitchen table.

Brought my dog Chauncey in for the first time, and after having some traumatic experiences at other places Nicole did a beyond amazing job with him. I couldn’t be happier with his groom. Everything was done perfectly. I didn’t even ask her to try to get the inside of his ears, as he hates having them touched and is prone to ear infections, but she did them and I’ve never seen them so clean! He seems much happier also. We will definitely be coming back!

I took my dachshund Miss Molly to Keeta’s Pet Salon for grooming and had wonderful results. Their salon is clean and very welcoming to the dogs. The full groom includes shampoo, conditioner, blow dry, brush out, nail trim, ear cleaning, haircut, Shea Butter all-natural nose & paw balm for skin moisturizing, cologne finishing spray with bandana or bow. The staff was so sweet- Chrysanthemum took care of my little angel. Chrys was very gentle with my little girl as she was a little shy going into a new place. Thank you Chrys for making sure both Miss Molly and I were comfort trying a new place out.

Took my dramatic chihuahua, Zeus, in for his first blowout. Now he’s been upset with me for two days because I won’t let him play in the dirt - I want him to stay my sweet smelling and fluffy fur baby! Great job Elena! I love all of the groomers! Wonderful establishment. Bonus- great prices!

I had an amazing first experience at Keeta’s pet salon. The staff were friendly and the price was extremely reasonable. They treated my Persian cats well and cleaned her up better than I expected, plus they were open later than most pet salons. I think I got more than my moneys worth. I wish I remembered the woman’s name who did the grooming so I could give her a personal shout out, but I can’t.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
