I took my 1 year old standard poodle, Gigi to Chelsea’s Paw Spa on Monday. I have to say I could not be happier with my experience! Chelsea’s came highly recommended from a friend so I had high hopes. They did not disappoint. The girls were friendly and made me feel comfortable leaving my pup with them. When they needed more time to cut her they called and let me know ahead of time to alleviate worry. Gigi truly looks amazing. Her haircut is perfect, her nails look great, she smells good, her ears are clean, she doesn’t have any weird cuts on her. She truly looks immaculate! As a hairstylist I appreciated every detail. They helped me prebook her next appointment to make planning easier. I’m so appreciative to have found somewhere I can trust. Thanks Chelsea!
Chelsea has been grooming my goldendoodle Luna for several years and always does a great job. I recently got an aussiedoodle puppy and now Chelsea does them both! I can drop them off together and pick them up about 3 hours later and they look so great. She even sends them home with matching bandanas. I highly recommend Chelsea for your grooming needs.
We brought our 18 pound long-haired cat, Squirrel, to Chelsea since his regular groomer was booked for a full month. You can see by his before picture that he needed a hair cut BADLY after the stay at home orders. Chelsea got us an appointment less than a week after I desperately reached out, taking care to schedule him when there wouldn't be many dogs in the salon. She took her time to prevent any cuts or injury and gave him an adorable lion cut at an affordable price. We agreed that we will continue to bring Squirrel here in the future.
Chelsea has been grooming all 4 of my dogs for the past 3 years. My dogs love her and she loves them like her own. I won't let anybody else touch them! Highly recommend to every dog parent I know
They take care of our fur babies. They are great with our dogs. They get their nails trimmed every month and shampooed every other month. Our dogs enjoy the pampering.
It was absolutely incredible how easy they made trimming my two 5 month old kittens claws. I've will be returning to them over and over. I couldn't recommend more highly.
Great prices. Great with the dogs that I saw when I was there. They wear masks. And the are eager to please you with the cut you want for your fur baby!
We love Chelsea! We have a wheaten terrier who is not the best client. He’s fairly high energy, making it very difficult for a groomer to cut his hair. Chelsea, however, is able to handle him with ease. She’s patient and caring, but mostly incredibly talented in grooming our dog. Before every appointment, Chelsea makes it a point to go over what we liked and what we may want changed for the next haircut. Her rates are reasonable and parking is extremely easy outside of her shop. We wouldn’t trust anyone else with our dog.
I had an amazing first experience at Chelsea’s Paw Spa. I have never had my cat groomed, but I am very pleased I picked this place as my first! My cat was very scared and I did not think things would go well. However, when I went to pick her up, they said she was a little scared but were able to clip her. SHE LOOKS AMAZING! She is a long hair, I had asked them not to shave her, but cut her short and leave her tail. They did EXACTLY as i had asked, and she looks adorable. I will certainly be coming back!
I've taken my baby Franklin to 3 different groomers. I almost gave up on finding a steady groomer because I started to think "maybe yorkies are hard to groom". I can now say I FINALLY found a permanant groomer! Chelsea did GREAT!

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
