Reviews
Customer reviews of Spots Grooming Salon are highly polarized, with a significant divide between those satisfied with their service and those expressing deep disappointment. Positive experiences highlight excellent grooming results, friendly and professional staff, and successful handling of difficult pets, particularly cats who have previously been unmanageable at other salons. Conversely, numerous negative reviews point to unsanitary conditions, unresponsive staff, and failure to follow grooming instructions, which led to unsatisfactory outcomes for several customers. Overall, while some pet owners are thrilled with the service, others found it unacceptable, suggesting a need for improvement in consistency and care standards.
Please I advise anyone dont bring your pet to Spots Grooming Salon. The place is very unsanitary. It smell like feces and urine which is hard to understand because its a grooming salon. The staff is not welcoming, to be frank everyone is rude. The towel they have laid out in the cages are not clean. So I decided I no longer want the service. However, in the same area Ham & Bone is in the area. Its very clean, they have almost everything you need for a dog even cute clothes. The place is welcoming, clean and affordable……..
10/10 Completely satisfied with my Moka's grooming service. She looks beautiful. Love that as they said it "did their best", they did exactly what was needed. Bath, haircut, and nail trimming. Other places complaining they couldn't do the nail trimming because she (Moka) got difficult, hard to believe. Spot's did an excellent job. Recommended 100%. Thank you.
Phil the owner is pleasant friendly professional, Jackie always grooms Merlin and she is the best. I've been going over 6 years and we've been through thick and thin and always look forward to seeing them!
My four-year-old cat is very sensitive and we can’t even go near her to cut her nails or to groom her. We took her to three separate grooming shops and they all told me that they could not work on her….. I live in Bucks county and spots spot pet grooming is bit far, but I wanted to give it a one last shot because of their reviews. What do you know!!!!!!!!!! THEY DID IT!!! And my GIRL LOOKS AMAZING!!!!! I am thrilled thrilled and sooooo happy!!! Everyone was super friendly!!
I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this grooming salon. I brought my long-haired cat in for grooming, fully aware she had some knots in her fur. We explicitly told the staff it was fine to shave the knots but to otherwise keep her hair long. They assured us the process would take 3–4 hours, but after just one hour, they called to say she was ready. They explained that they had to cut her hair “a little shorter” to even things out and make the spots less noticeable. When we picked her up, we were shocked to see that she was completely shaved down. This was far from what we requested. How does shaving her entirely count as “evening things out”? While they charged the amount they quoted, it’s frustrating to pay for grooming only to have her shaved—a task I could have done myself if that was the intended result. This experience left me feeling that my instructions were disregarded. I trusted them to care for my pet and to deliver the service I asked for, but they fell short in a big way. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this salon and will not be returning.
David did an excellent job grooming Marshmallow. He was very, very good! My pup was shaggy, & scraggly. He came home clean & fresh. He made his puppy parents very happy. What a cutie!
Friend of mine recommended this place to me and I liked the end result after they groomed my dog. My only complain is that one of the employee didn’t wear a mask at all. It isn’t a big deal for me since I have finished my covid vaccination. Again, just a little nitpick on my end. Their price is very reasonable and their work is pretty good, will recommend this place to others.
Had been bringing our shih tzu here for 7 years and will unfortunately be stopping after today. We dropped our dog off at 10am, very first dog in the shop. Almost 6 hours had gone by and we called them around 3:30pm to ask if everything was OK. We were told that “there were a lot of big dogs today” and she was just being put onto the table now (because I called). We finally were able to pick her up 45 minutes later. Come to find out she was the last dog in there and they serviced every dog that came in after her while she sat in the cage all day. When we asked them to help us understand why, we were told by the folks working there that they weren’t in this morning so they didn’t know why she hadn’t been serviced or how long she had been there. She’s incredibly well behaved, doesn’t bark or bite and is literally the sweetest dog. Seems like they took advantage of how well behaved she is and prioritized the more difficult dogs while she sat for hours. Super upsetting and disappointing. She came home dehydrated and she smells. Pretty sure they didn’t even bathe her, she smelled cleaner before we brought her.
Fantastic transformation of my fur baby. Very pleasant people. My baby isn't afraid to be handled by them. In fact, he wags his tail . A good sign. I told the Groomer that he is now married to us. Not allowing anyone else to groom my baby.
Just adopted this floofy girl, who was a stray, from a rescue. She had a lot of matting throughout her coat. The lady did a great job giving her a lion cut. Parking tip: it’s safer to park on Howard. I foolishly parked on Girard & Front and grown men started fighting one another in front of my car. The groomers allowed me to sit inside and wait until the fighting cleared up outside.

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
