Reviews

Overall, customers express high satisfaction with the grooming services provided by Alexis, praising her professionalism, care, and attention to detail. Many reviews highlight the safe and welcoming environment of the shop, with pet owners noting the transformations of their pets, both in appearance and demeanor after grooming sessions. Numerous reviewers specifically mention Alexis's ability to handle cats with care, easing worries for first-time grooming experiences, and even identifying health issues during grooming. However, one negative review points to a specific dissatisfaction regarding a dog's haircut, suggesting that potential customers should communicate requests clearly to ensure their expectations are met.

Our newly rescued pup, Georgie, was in rough shape after being found on the streets... Alexis previously groomed our dearly departed Rottweiler mix, Daisy, for many years at her previous location, so she was our first phone call when we got Georgie. After describing Georgie's condition, all the mats, etc, Alexis clearly communicated that she would need to shave Georgie pretty short and the reasonably priced fees associated with the services we requested. We felt very comfortable leaving Georgie at the "salon" and returned an hour later to pick her up. I can tell you that I cried when I saw Georgie happily run out from the back with a complete glow up! Total transformation. Georgie has since been groomed by Alexis a second time and we are again satisfied with the experience.

Alexis did a phenomenal job with my cat, Fig! She was easy to work with and eased all of my worries since it would be Fig’s first grooming experience. He was calm as could be when I picked him up and he looks (and smells) great! Very reasonably priced and quick service. Will be back for his monthly nail trim and the works when he needs it next!

I’m so happy that I found this gem. Pricing is reasonable, appointments are fairly easy to obtain, and Tully always looks great after. I’d also like to add that I was prompted to get a growth on my dog’s face checked out after one of her grooming sessions. Turns out it was cancer so I’m also very thankful that she pointed out that the growth appeared to be getting bigger. I’ve recommended this groomer to many people by word of mouth and all have been happy with the service as well.

Alexis was nice and provided a good customer service. It was my first time visit so we walk through some paperwork and she helped me out on that. But I think the entire thing why I was there was for my dog haircut which I think she messed up big time. I described how I want his haircut looks like, pulled up photos and she even took photos of those but then, look what my dog ended up with. I attached here photo that I showed here what I want, photo before ans after the haircut. I don’t think she took into account my instruction at all. And his haircut was very choppy and uneven. His nail was uncut. 55$ for a full service and I think it’s not worth the money. Not recommended!

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
