Maggie is a phenomenal groomer!! I cannot recommend her enough - she’s been grooming my dog for 3 years! He hates bath time / getting wet, but she’s amazing with him! I think she has the patience of a saint. She’s excellent at realizing when he needs a full cut and when he needs a “face and fanny” which is excellent because I don’t want him cut down too much. My dog is always perfectly groomed and fluffy! The entire staff at Pet Snobs clearly loves animals. They are so welcoming when I come in with my dog, and always welcome him with a treat. I’m so happy we go to Pet Snobs - I couldn’t be happier with the way they treat my dog and how amazing they are at grooming!
We travel full time and have been to groomers all across the country. This was by far the best experience we have ever had with a grooming appointments! Maggie did a fabulous job on our doodle. He had Matts and needed to be shaved down. She did a great job with the cut and was able to keep his tail fluffy and leave length on his head which was exactly what we wanted. It was the fastest he has ever been groomed yet he looks the best he ever has after a hair cut. Would recommend in a heartbeat and this is a place we will be visiting every time we are staying in Philly!
I love The Pet Snobs!!! They listen to you and take great care grooming. My dog Kendrick Lamar had an awesome grooming experience again with Sierra and this time on his bday. My Kenny knows his looks good! Thank you Sierra and the wonderful staff. We are officially returning customers.
We followed Sam to Pet Snobs when she left her previous job. She's always been so gentle and caring with our little senior shih tzu mix, we couldn't imagine anyone else grooming her. Our dog recently started having more frequent seizures, and unfortunately had one mid-groom. Sam was so professional when it happened, and has adjusted how she grooms her to lessen the stress. Can't recommend Sam enough!
Without a doubt, the best pet shop in the city. The people who work there are always kind, respectful, and clearly love the animals they care for. Sam performed miracles on my foster dog and helped him get adopted. People commented on his haircut for a few weeks afterwards!
This place is phenomenal! The groomers do an excellent job and the store is just so cute! You can tell they really love animals. I've tried a few other groomers in Philly but this one in my opinion is the best. Also, I love supporting women owned small businesses. The owner Jaci is very accommodating (and nice!) plus it's very easy to get an appointment. The groomers I've dealt with so far are Maddie and Sierra- both great at what they do and sensitive to my Shih Tzu's needs. Will definitely be back and continue to give them business. A+++
We started taking our puppy to Pet Snobs immediately for puppy grooms to get her acclimated before continuing with full grooms. Maggie does an amazing groom that was exactly what we were looking for from day 1 and you can tell how detailed the groom is. Also, they always give us a 30-minute heads up before the groom is complete which is very helpful!
Did a great job grooming our skittish pup and the staff was friendly. We like the eclectic vibe and the speciality treats that they stock. Nice addition to our Bella Vista neighborhood.
When we moved from AZ to PA we struggled to find a new groomer for our senior cattle dog. We attempted one and her methods left my dog matted and skin tender and in pain. It took a really long time to get his coat right again. I was very nervous calling around and trying to find another groomer. The shop walked me through the whole process and the precautions they take for older, senior dogs who may have limited mobility and need additional services like sanitary shaves and the hair between their pads shaved. When we went to the shop I was so excited to see a cool assortment of products as well attention to asking about how my dog does with other dogs (cattle dogs can be picky) which showed me they actually knew the breed and their ✨personality✨ rather then just telling me they could manage him. Cattle dogs have a wide variety of coat types and can be difficult to handle if you don’t know what you’re doing. I was so happy to pick up a happy happy dog who smelled great and showed ZERO signs of stress. I was super relieved. I get that this all makes me seem like a crazy dog parent but I don’t care - it took us a year to regrow his coat properly and I was very worried we would be back to that point again. Thanks so much we’ll definitely be back!
They transformed my 14 year old lab's coat into a it's former youthful condition. It's so wonderful to see my fur baby's coat so healthy after over a year of issues I've had postpartum I haven't been able to care for his coat in the way I have in the past and this made me tear up. They even did his nails! I thank you, and Ike thanks you! Sierra was his groomer, and she truly is a senior specialist. I highly recommend this groomer to anyone.

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
