I used to give my dog a bath at the car wash but they got rid of their dog baths and dryers. I took him to a lady that did a good job but she’s hard to get ahold of. So I took him to Pet Smart & after 15 minutes of dropping him off, I got a call saying I needed to come back to get him because he’s biting at the water. Then they charged me $30 for clipping his nails. 🤦🏽♂️ I felt out of luck with getting my boy a good bath. Then in my social media feed I saw Special Care Grooming. I warned them that my dog has been turned away from groomers. Rachel ( the owner) said don’t worry about it…I’ll take care of him. Nervous about leaving she reassured me that he would be fine. As I left I kept waiting for a call from Rachel to tell me she can’t give him a bath. 1 hour and 40 minutes my phone rings and on the other end is an energetic voice saying…WE ARE ALL DONE AND HE DID GREAT! I thank God four Rachel!! He looks amazing!!
Have been driving to Xenia for 5 years because I was anxious to try a new groomer closer to the city because I’m a helicopter dog mom. L O L. Rachel is very professional and took time before the first appointment to get to know my pup and make sure she was comfortable. Love how she looks and how soft her paws feel! Rachel also has an oil treatment for dogs with itchy skin and with allergy season, I was very excited to give that a try for my pups allergies. If you’re looking for a new groomer, I would definitely recommend!
It’s not every day that you can find a groomer that can help you with your dogs who might deal with anxiety. My dogs are afraid of everything! And Rachael is so gentle, soft-spoken and just perfect for my puppies! Not to mention she handed my 125 pound Aussie Doodle with absolute EASE! I am so glad that I chose SPECIAL CARE GROOMING for our dog grooming needs because that’s exactly what you get! You get special care, grooming! Rachael goes above and beyond and oh my goodness her Grooming Studio is just perfect! Book now, because she fills up quickly! (Of course she does! She’s the best!!! ♥️♥️♥️) Thank you Rachael, we’ll see you in a few weeks for our next groom!!!
This was my first time taking my dog Cassie anywhere as she was recently added to our home. Rachel did such an amazing job with her. I really appreciate the way she took the time to make sure my dog was comfortable and not scared during the process. Cassie came home running laps and feeling so much better! I will be going here for the foreseeable future!
I've never had a pet so comfortable and happy after a groom than my dog is with Rachael. She really makes an effort to get to know your dog and spends the time with them to make them feel relaxed. Thanks!
Did a wonderful job on my Pomeranian. I was worried since our dog came from a home of abuse but he seemed to have a great time getting washed and trimmed here and he looks great. Incredible prices too. Can’t recommend enough if you are in the area.
When I went to pick up my Maltese puppy, I had to control myself. I was furious how he was. I am posting pictures and you can judge for yourself. Hair length is different in side of the face, same in another parts of his body. I paid for the De luxe service and this is what I got.
I found special care grooming on google and checked out the website. Was able to make an appointment right on the website and it was super easy. When I arrived Rachael was super friendly and greeted us outside. I asked her to shave my 2 mini aussies down and she did exactly what I asked. She did such a fantastic job. I would 100% recommend taking your babies here!
My dog fiona was in need of a bath and a nail trim. Through recommendations from a friend I took her to special care grooming! It was Fiona’s first experience at the groomer and Rachael really did amazing. She assured me that she was able to take time to let her get comfortable with the idea of a new person instead of jumping straight in like I’ve heard most groomers do. Racheal went above and beyond with Fiona and took the time needed to make sure Fiona was well taken care of. She came home happy and smelling great! I recommend special care grooming to anyone because of the experience as well as the availability to get in and the extra time taken to care for the needs of my Fiona.
Wow! Exceptional experience at Special Care. I heard great things about Rachael and drove quite a distance. Definitely worth it. Her prices beat absolutely everyone in the area and her special care is worth the drive. I took 2 dogs - a small 6lb chi-poo and a miniature golden doodle. Both looked so amazing I couldn’t believe they were the same dogs ❤️ She did exactly what I asked and I couldn’t be happier. This was my first visit to this home based business. I will definitely be back! 🐾 I will never go back to the “grooming mill” I’ve been to in the past. I love the caring touch and love my dogs received in the home setting . I can tell she loves her job and my dogs! Thank you Rachael for the special care you gave my dogs. I know they can be difficult and you provided just the care they needed. I’ve already booked their next visit! 🦴🐶

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
