Makayla is the absolute best and treats Pax with such care and compassion. We are so lucky to have found someone who is so thoughtful & also does an amazing job! 10/10!

I absolutely love spots grooming. My groomer Mary is always so nice and treats my dog like a princess. She does the absolute best work on her nails with the dremel when all other places would torture my dog with the clippers. My dog barely fights and doesn't cry which never happened with the clippers. Every time I get her a bath she looks, feels and smells incredible! She's always so excited too when she gets home from getting her bath. Everyone here is kind, professional, knowledgeable and friendly! I would highly recommend this groomer in general and my groomer Mary in particular, but I'm sure anyone who handled your pet here would provide excellent service! I'm so glad I found this place and will remain a customer for all of my doggies! (None of these photos were taken at spots, I just wanted to show off my baby and now great they make her look!)

I was nervous about getting my dog groomed, but Brianna did a fantastic job. We came to pick him up and he was happy as a clam playing ball with her. She managed to get all of his nails, and trimmed him up beautifully. We will absolutely be a regular client of hers!

I can always trust Makayla to give our dog Casper a perfect grooming appointment. We originally found Makayla at Petsmart in Victor. When she moved, we followed her to Spot Pet Grooming. It’s worth the extra drive to see her. Thank you for always treating Casper as if he was your own.

I had an appointment booked for my frenchie 5/29/2025 the drop off time was between 11am - 2pm the groomer called me at 11:15 am to make sure I was still coming. I arrived to the appointment at about 11:20 am I couldn’t find the place at first I tried calling and gotten hung up on. Ended up going into the nail shop to find out where this place is located they ended up telling me they the back. Found it. I explained to Makayla that my main concern is the excess shedding my frenchie has been having lately and wanted that to be top priority (obviously with everything else) An hour goes by I come to pick up my pup… he’s still wet, she missed a whole paw of nails, and he still had hair on him. This is my second time outsourcing baths due to the excessive shedding (allergies) and the only other place I’ve taken him to is pet supplies when it got bad last year as well and they did an AMAZING job compared to this service I’ve gotten gotten recently from this business. The bill came out to $60 I was prepared to give a $25 tip but ended up giving $10 because of this incident. I didn’t even want a refund, discount, or a rebooking in my eyes if you can’t do a job correctly getting paid how are you going to do it correctly for free. This is not even the worst… I get my pup home and I noticed his nail broke off and gushing blood. I don’t even know what to say about this whole experience. The establishment seems to be loved by people. However this is my experience take it with that as you will.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
