Reviews
Overall, customers express high satisfaction with the grooming services provided by WooWoo, highlighting the friendly and accommodating staff who are attentive to specific grooming requests, particularly for anxious pets. Many reviews note exceptional experiences, with pets returning looking beautiful and in great spirits, underscoring the quality of grooming. The appointment process is described as easy and efficient, and the environment is welcoming, contributing to a positive experience for both pets and their owners. However, one review indicates a significant issue with miscommunication regarding grooming instructions, which suggests that there may be room for improvement in attention to detail in some cases.
We had a very nice experience with WooWoo. The appointment process was easy, the staff were kind and explained the options for our Kitty Helga. She had a nice bath, haircut and nails trimmed. When we picked her up, she was in great spirits and looked beautiful. We will be back!
I gave explicit instructions more than 2 times not to cut my dog's ears. I also gave clear instructions on my dog's tail and neck areas. The worker acknowledged understanding my instructions. Only to have my dog cut nothing like I asked. I was told "Oh--sorry" and my dog still looks cute. I had to ask for a discount and only received $20 off. I will have to wait at least 6 months for my dog's hair on his ears to grow back. If you love animals, you would have a love to pay attention on grooming instructions. If you love your pet, I wouldn't recommend taking them here.
So thrilled to have WooWoo newly in the neighborhood! Usually wash and shave my dog myself but do such a poor job, so felt pretty embarrassed bringing my dog to the groomers all matted and in need of a shave. WooWoo took him day of and gave him the best grooming I’ve ever seen. They are so welcoming, patient and non-judge mental and the wash, groom and nail trimming was super affordable. See the before and after photos - he looks like a proper gentleman!🥰 Will definitely be coming back!
Had the most amazing experience, our 5 month old pup looked absolutely adorable and was so calm afterwards, 100% recommend! Staff was extremely attentive and friendly.
We are dedicated customers here - they always take care of our puppy and have him looking so clean! Couldn’t recommend this place more. Very friendly staff and quick service.
The 1st visit with our kitty Charlie at WooWoo was a great experience! I was well informed of the details of the services both online and once again right before he was taken to the back. He had a bath, haircut, nails trimmed, and came back calm and in a great mood. Staff is extremely friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Thank you WooWoo and glad to have you in Kips Bay!
We had an amazing first experience with Woo Woo Dog & Cat Grooming! My 11 month old mini goldendoodle looked beautiful after her grooming appointment and the staff was very friendly. Looking forward to taking her back for future appointments.
We were very happy with the haircut we got for Zoe, our Cockapoo, at Woo Woo. The person taking care of Zoe was friendly and Zoe accepted him immediately. Very professional, well done haircut. We’ll be back. Thanks.👍😊
The before pic is her sitting on the floor. My dog was legit black listed from petsmart due to her high anxiety and needing 2 groomers to groom her there.... I was literally told they can't book appointments for her after going to them for 2 years. Needless to say I was so nervous embaressed and hesitant looking for a new groomer. WooWoo was highly recommended to me by a neighbor as I was explaining to her about my dogs anxiety and need for a haircut. I was excited as they are just 2 blocks away and made an appointment right away. They space is so cute and they are so warm and welcoming. I stressed to them that she's super anxious with her muzzle and paws, was black listed due to her high anxiety etc etc and they assured me they will work with her. I also explained what kind of cut I wanted , specific tail trimming etc. I was surprised how quickly they completed her groom AND they were able to check off all my requests. They saw she grew anxious when they used the electric clippers near her head so they switched to scissors and she was fine. They were even able to trim her paws AND nail grind!! I was so happy how understanding, calm and accommodating they were to our baby. You can see how good they are with dogs as they were smoothing and caressing her muzzle showing how they worked with her and she didn't even snarl. I will definitely continue going to them and highly recommend them. Thank you for the wonderful service you showed my little girl.
We had an amazing 1st experience at WooWoo. They took special care of our Samoyed ♥️ she went home with a gorgeous trim and a cute bandana.

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
