We just got our husky groomed here yesterday and had a great experience. He was starting to blow his coat and desperately needed a deshedding. He came back soft and with a little bow tie to boot! They were quick and professional. We were worried that he’d struggle at a new place and they assured us good or bad they’d tell us how he did and they said he did wonderful. I did put down a deposit for the first time groom which they subtracted from my bill. We will be back! That’s for taking such good care of our doggy!

They have groomed our three dogs for the past few years. They hand strip two and the third is an 85 pound Spinone Italiano that would rather run through the mud and brush so he’s a handful. Always the best from the team at the Groom Crew

They did an excellent job with my very anxious puppy who has been kicked out by multiple groomers for nail trims. There was no shaming, they had genuine compassion and care for my pup, and they got the job done! I highly recommend them! We will be making them our go-to groomers and I will be recommending them to everyone I know!

We love Kim at Groom Crew! Our Shih Tzu is a little finicky with new people and Kim is so patient and gentle with her. After taking her to Kim for many years, she is much less fearful of grooming situations. Kim is also very quick, which makes it easier on our pup, while still always sending her home looking adorable. It's also a great location with Cub, Minnehaha Park and coffee shops nearby so it's easy to relax or run errands during the groom. I highly recommend Kim and Groom Crew!

Pocket has never looked better! If you want something specialized and specific go here! I wanted mutton chops for my dog and he's so dapper. (Pictures are a little after because I never remember)

Our dog is NOT a fan of nail trims and this crew does it with kindness and love. We are thrilled to have found them. We highly recommend them.

John did an amazing job with Astro who is 4 months of energy and flop. Mixed bed Pyrenees,Airedale terrier, husky and poodle. He had hair in his eyes, ears and the way John tweaked his coat and cleaned up his big hairy feet is awesome. How he got my puppy that way with all the squirm is magic. 1 before photo, 3 after.

Very happy with the professional service from the Groom Crew. Our black lab mix is fairly low maintenance, but needed his nails trimmed. He's a pretty hyper dog and the idea of trying to do this myself was intimidating to say the least. Along with nails, they gave him a good washing and brushing. They did a good job with him, were super friendly and prices were reasonable! Definitely recommend.

Great experience overall getting our Goldendoodle puppy’s first haircut. They provide a “first cut” service to get puppies used to the groomer, and then if the puppy is handling it well they’ll also do a full cut. We made an appointment on a Saturday around noon, and there were only two other dogs being seen at the time. Joe was able to give her the first and full cut. She looks great, and had a great experience!

I absolutely love these guys! The Groom Crew was recommended to me by a friend of mine who is a vet and I am SO glad i went to these guys. I have two cats, one with special needs, and Erin is always patient with them and treats them both like they are her own. Every time I enter, I am met with professionalism, honesty and kindness and I always leave with a smile. There a grooming salon is always neat clean and organized. I have recommended these guys to all of my sisters and all of my work associates. Keep up the great work you guys! 👍

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
