Cynthia & her partner took such great care of my (difficult) baby!! Because of his anxiety I’ve always been super anxious myself about having him groomed, but Cynthia’s friendly personality & expertise immediately put me at ease– I knew that I could trust her! My little man came out of her spa a whole new cat (smelling absolutely amazing) and loving his fresh cut! Her 5-star ratings across the board are well-earned and deserved. If they can groom this beast they can groom any!!! I will absolutely be recommending her all around :)
Cynthia runs a great business. We have boarded our senior cat a number of time with her. He is comfortable there and clearly enjoys seeing Cynthia and her family. We have also had him groomed, claws clipped and capped and they do an excellent job. I would recommend to any cat owner.
What a wonderful service Cynthia and crew provide to the Boston Area! Our two Maine Coons get super-stressed leaving the house in their cat carriers so having the option for in-home grooming is amazing. Cynthia does a fantastic job with their lion cuts and they are so much happier and healthier as well (no more burrs). I couldn’t recommend Cynthia and House Call Cat Grooming enough!
Our Ragdoll Artemis was BADLY matted. House call did AMAZING work and really took the time to properly demat her without completely shaving her. They were incredibly communicative and took amazing care of our cat. I would recommend them to anyone looking for cat specific grooming. Before pic in the cabinet, the rest are after!!
My guy Rusty is getting too old to groom himself properly. After reading Cynthia's reviews I booked an appointment. She was welcoming, expressed real interest in my cat and treated him well. He came out of her Spa happy and looking great. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for someone to care for your pet. A picture tells a thousand words
After every grooming Pippin is 100 percent mat free, relaxed and happy! His coat is soft and smooth. After his grooming he always looks beautiful! Cynthia’s cat grooming skills are exceptional. She really cares about Pippin’s comfort and helps him feel at ease for every grooming. She is a great communicator too. She replies very quickly and thoroughly. She keeps me updated with texts and instructions until she cheerfully arrives at my door. She’s outstanding and very nice too! Thanks so much, Cythnia! Look at that hair!
Truly, Cynthia and her partner are both amazing! Communication leading up to the appointment was quick and accessible - quite literally one of my fastest/most efficient scheduling experiences. I brought my boy, Cedar, to their brick-and-mortar location, and their shop is lovely - clean and organized. Cynthia kept me updated with his progress via text & pictures; he's a long-haired cat who had a large amount of dead undercoat growth and mats, so there was A LOT of hair to work through. I could tell immediately that Cedar had a positive experience and was feeling so much better when I picked him up. Cynthia also went above and beyond for me. I came on a day when the typical Boston snow struck, and my ride home fell through. Uber wasn't picking up in the area and I was resigned to taking the hour-long commute on the bus & train home. But Cynthia was kind enough to give Cedar and me a ride, sparing us a very cold, very snowy trek home. I am so deeply grateful, both for the care that was shown to my baby during his grooming and for the kindness shown to me in a moment of need. I cannot thank them enough and heartily recommend you give them a shot if you're in the market for a cat groomer. I'm never going to anyone else! Please see the photos for his before and after (blue blanket = before, gray blanket = after).
Cynthia was incredibly helpful and did a wonderful job of grooming my cat and keeping her comfortable during the process. Best experience I have had for cat grooming.
Cynthia is a magician! My cat Maggi is extremely difficult about grooming, being picked up or handled even. She is also quite fat so cannot groom herself well and happens to be longhaired so every spring/early summer she gets extremely matted and gross. Cynthia has groomed her several times, this year she even helped us schedule an emergency groom at her spa and shaved and bathed Maggi, she always ends up smelling so good! Cynthia replies quickly and gives good suggestions for calming down a cat before their haircut.
I found Cynthia through a vet that did home visits. Their practice used her for their cats. I didn’t have a car so it was so great to have someone come to the house and cut my cat’s nails. A lot of the services that I looked into would not come and just do nails. They would only come if they could groom them as well; which my cats didn’t need. And now, even though I have a car, I continue to use her because I have a 16 year old cat who doesn’t tolerate much and Cynthia is wonderful with her. She texts when she is on her way and she is in and out quickly but always does a great job. As anyone with cats know, they don’t travel well! I highly recommend her services! 😻😻

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
