The facility is noted for its exceptional care, particularly with training and grooming services, though there was one negative experience related to grooming that highlighted a lack of thoroughness. Thoroughly impressed! My puppy stayed with all the sweet caregivers at the pet station for 9 days and I can say, I don’t think he wanted to come home. He was very well taken care of, loved the daily photos, the text line for questions and they were quick to provide updates and suggestions on any additional activities. They stayed on the feed schedule for our boy and he was well loved. Couldn’t ask for anything more. We will be using them again!

Booker loves his time at the Pet Station Country Club! They take care of him like he’s their own pet and watch out for any changes even in mood. Love the daily photos and how responsive they are to messages all times of the day. Wouldn’t take him anywhere else!

I would absolutely recommend Pet Station to everyone! I got pictures every day, sometimes twice a day. I got updates on how he was doing, and if I had any questions the response time over text was within minutes. I love the add ons, we chose to alternate between the nature walk, outside play time, and pool time…pretty sure pool time was his favorite. We added a grooming for his last day/pick up day, and he looks great. Safe to say we’ll only be boarding with Pet Station from now on!

The absolute best of the best! Phenomenal staffing from client coordinators, daycare, boarding, grooming, and training! I cannot stress how much I love my Murphy Lane squad! We (aka Baloo, Tito and myself) all look forward to seeing our front desk & grooming team! Ashley transformed my Tito bear from being a highly anxious pup who couldn’t be left alone without destroying something or constantly crying 24/7. She discovered he needed a ‘job’ to overcome his anxiety. Now he sits on his placemat calmly while people enter the house or the iRobot vacuums underneath him. Her training skills were life transforming and we owe all of our happiness to her! Now we’re eager to invite people over to see his success! The entire staff is highly trained, compassionate, and trustworthy. I sleep better at night knowing my boys are in safe hands there! Thank you Murphy Lane Staff we love you so much!!!!

First time using the location, groomer. Took my toy poodles and provided instruction to the groomer prior to leaving them. Added these are trail dogs so please don’t use a poodle cut. Upon picking them up, noted dogs paws have been trimmed down so that nails are showing. Groomer apologized. Nothing can be done now; hair will grow back. Kiddos to groomer for telling me one of my dogs ears was cut during grooming. Upon me asking, groomer showed me the cut and answered how he had treated it. Photo was taken should anything come from this. Appreciate the groomers honesty. After leaving establishment, noted one dog has much hair still in her ears that should have plucked. Very disappointed about lack of completeness with groom.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
