Reviews
Overall, reviews of Sarah's grooming service present a stark contrast in customer satisfaction. Many customers express high levels of approval for Sarah's grooming abilities, praising her professionalism, the cleanliness of the facility, and the positive treatment of their pets, with several long-term clients indicating they have been consistently pleased over the years. However, a significant number of negative reviews highlight serious concerns regarding the quality of service, such as poor grooming results, perceived mistreatment of animals (e.g., being left in a crate without water for extended periods), and inadequate communication about services and pricing. Additionally, cat care appears to be a particular point of contention, with one customer expressing disappointment at being charged for a service not rendered. This split in experiences suggests a need for better consistency
I normally groom my Border Collies myself, but due to some health issues and getting ready to go out of town, I was unable to. Sarah did a FANTASTIC job with my pups! She trimmed up their feet, ground their nails and they came home fluffy, soft, and smelling great! I would definitely bring them back again in the future!
I'm just going to let the pictures speak for themselves. The only part of either dog that was matted was the bottom of the brown dog's ears. We are devastated on how awful the dogs look.
Sara has been grooming my wonderful dogs for 10+ years! She is the best with reasonable priced!
I was recommended by a neighbor to take my 4 month old puppy to this groomer. She already had been to a groomer once before and I received no complaints about her from the groomers there when I asked how did she did. I went to Sarah’s groomers and as I was picking up my puppy, I was told by Sarah that I need to leash train my puppy as well as leash train myself. I told her she is in puppy class and only 4 months old. We are working on it. She charged me $5 extra based on the behavior of my puppy. She also mentioned that I need to be more firm with her and trust me I discipline my dog. Also, I don’t think they give the dogs water or take them out while there because when I left my dog had to go so bad that she went on the sidewalk. Also they only do checks or cash. Luckily, I brought a checkbook because they didn’t give me a price on the phone. Overall, the customer service wasn’t worth the price. I will be taking her back to the previous place where she actually got to play with other dogs and they checked to make sure all dogs have their vaccines.
I have been contemplating writing this review because I'm so upset and don't know how to address this. I dropped my cat off to be bathed. She was not. Thank you for clipping her nails and charging $50 for that. Update: Since after this experience I have been tentative to take my cat to a groomer again. I finally called Sam Pet Grooming. So happy I did! She looks amazing!!!!
Through several dogs and a variety of breeds, we've always been very pleased with the treatment of our pets and the results of the grooming provided by Sarah and her staff. We now have a 9 month old Golden, a beautiful boy, who will soon become one of Sarah's clients. Bill & Carol Beavers
I have been a long time supporter of this establishment but had a very bad experience today. My dog does not deserve to be put in a closed crate for 3.5 hours without water. I dropped Piper at 10a and went back to check on him at 1.30p. He was in the same crate crying. I do not approve of mistreating animals and this is absurd.
I asked for my dog trio be cut short for the hot summer and they told me it would be like "crushed velvet". Her hair was almost half an inch long, I've never seen crushed velvet like that before. It was way too long for summer and it means I'll have to have another cut sooner. Plus it was choppy with tufts of hair around her chest and shoulders. Her face looked uneven. And then after we got home my whole car was full of hair! I paid for a cut and a bath and obviously they didn't wash her if she was still covered in hair trimmings. Worst grooming experience I've ever had. $60 and I could've done it myself better.
Sarah is a professional groomer and responsible business owner. Dealing with humans whose directions may be emotional and unclear is stressful. If things didn't work out for your pet, posting a negative comment without context is useless. If you want to solve the problem, speak to Sarah directly. You can help your dog and other dogs this way.
Love Sarah and her team! The Groom Room is clean, inviting and my Westies love Sarah! Thanks all!

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
