Reviews
Overall, customer satisfaction with Hot Diggity Dog is high, with many reviewers praising the staff for their kindness, expertise, and personalized care for their pets. Customers noted that the groomers are patient and attentive, particularly with anxious dogs, leading to consistently positive grooming outcomes. However, a few reviews highlighted significant issues, such as inadequate communication and concerns about the grooming methods used, leading to frustration for some customers. Despite the mixed experiences, many loyal patrons express unwavering trust in the service and recommend it as a premier choice for pet grooming.
Amazing staff and team. Took care of our wheaten terrier and helped get her looking great. Also helped us get on a plan to trim her nails and reduce her quick over time which we are looking to do because of negligence of nail trimming by a past groomer. Will be coming back and happy to be in the neighborhood! Thanks!
I have been unhappy with Hot Diggity Dog recently, but I am always willing to work through problems as personal services are very opinion based. However, after the most recent service, I will never be returning. They have repeatedly shaved my dogs face citing her face “being matted.” I conducted an experiment this time and made sure I regularly brushed her face and even the morning of, confirmed she was not matted. They shaved her again, told me I was lying. I acknowledge it’s easier to just shave a dogs face than it is to actually groom a dog, but for $150, I expect more than laziness. Further, they clearly do not provide water to the dogs, despite them being there for 7.5 hours. They are also never available via phone. Go elsewhere - even if you have to wait forever to get in. Good groomers are hard to find and you will not find one here.
I’ve been coming to Hot Diggity Dog for over a year. I found them when I first moved to ATL and am so grateful I did. All of the staff are very kind and understanding of my nervous dog. They let me bring her in on quieter days and are very patient with her. She always comes back looking amazing. I’m not a grooming expert but I’m a huge fan of how they treat my dog and the way she looks after. Their treatments have also helped reduce her shedding in summer. I would highly recommend them to others looking for a great groomer.
Our doodle was a client for 3 yrs at Hot Diggity Dog and our first groomer was excellent - extremely patient with a big puppy that was a puppy mill rescue and was anxious and scared of everything. Our second groomer also seemed fine with our dog. Most recently with a new groomer, our doodle was essentially expelled during the phone call to let us know she was ready to be picked up because "she wouldn't let them touch her face." They had also charged us an extra fee ($30?) on a previous visit for having a "difficult" dog. They weren't rude during our final pick up and eventually said they could try grooming her if we had her sedated - which her first groomer had told us NOT to do. In the end, it seemed clear to me from the phone call and during pick up that they really didn't want her back so we aren't returning for services.
From the tender age of just 3 months, my precious Praline Pecan has been receiving her grooming treatments at Hot Diggity, and now, five years later, I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. The dedication, expertise, and love shown by the team especially the owner Tracy have remained consistent throughout the years. They've watched Praline Pecan grow and have always ensured she looks her best after every visit. Their impeccable service and attention to detail are commendable. But more than just a grooming service, they've become a trusted part of our extended family, always caring for Praline Pecan as one of their own. For anyone seeking unparalleled grooming services, Hot Diggity is the gold standard. Here's to many more years of exceptional service!
I have been using this team with my Blind Havanese for over 3 years. They always take such good care of my dog, Truffles, and she always leaves looking beautiful!
I bring my dog Ramona here every 2-4 weeks for a shedding bath and nail dremel (she sheds CONSTANTLY). I’ve had nothing but great experiences with the staff taking their time with her and being sensitive to her anxiety around other people and dogs. She loves going in to see all of her friends, and is always so happy when we leave. I wouldn’t trust another groomer to handle her, plus she always looks so pretty after they fluff her out with their blow dryers 🤩 Thank you so much Hot Diggity crew!
We have the best experience with them for our mini labradoodle, Rosie! The staff is amazing and do a great job with her. The price is also reasonable and comparable with other nearby groomers. Thanks for all that you do! :)
Amazing. Don’t hesitate and get on the wait list. It’s worth it. They are kind, thoughtful and considerate of our fur babies. I have been taking my pups here for five years. One was a senior with paralysis and they were so patient. They do great cuts and styles on my standard poodle. You get the same tech with each pup every time so your pup gets comfortable and familiar with them. I’m always notified if it’s someone different. Please give this great business your support.
I was reluctant to take our mini golden doodle to a new groomer after she had a terrible grooming experience elsewhere…however, made an appointment with Hot Diggity and so glad I did! They made us feel so comfortable and were so sweet to our pup. The actual grooming was our best yet - beautiful cut, nails were finally smooth and a ‘noticeable’ teeth cleaning! Will definitely use them again. Our dog actually ran back to give some snuggles to the team before we left.

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
