Reviews
Customer reviews of Animal House reveal a stark contrast in experiences, highlighting significant concerns regarding grooming quality and staff accountability. Multiple reviewers reported severe negative incidents, including skin infections and injuries caused by inappropriate grooming practices and dirty equipment, along with a lack of communication from staff regarding these issues. While some customers praised specific groomers for their attentive care and friendly demeanor, the overwhelming dissatisfaction from those who faced problems indicates a serious inconsistency in service quality. Overall, while a segment of patrons expresses high satisfaction with the staff and the grooming outcomes, the alarming experiences shared by others suggest potential negligence and poor management that undermine overall customer trust.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE! these people shaved my beautiful golden doodle with infected and dirty clippers which resulted in my dog having a terrible skin infection on his head that was oozing out yellow and bloody discharge. I picked up my dog and ask the receptionist what was wrong with my dogs head because his head appeared to be extremely irritated. The receptionist told me not to worry and that another dog that was playing with my dog had slobbered on his head. I TRUSTED the receptionist’s words because my dogs have been to this place a few times. THIS WAS A STUPID MISTAKE! Once we got home my dog was already becoming extremely restless and bothering his head, I thought that it would pass over. Days past by and my dogs head was extremely infected.. LOOK AT THE PICTURES. I had to rush my dog to an emergency pet hospital where they told me that the groomer must have used dirty clippers and infected my dog. They had to shave my dogs head down completely to cleanse the infection out, My dog now has to wear a cone 24/hrs a day until his head heals. I simply asked the groomer to help assist with the medical bills I had to pay and they won’t even help with that or take accountability stating that it is my fault that my dog had an infection. THE LIES these people tell. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
“ANIMAL HOUSE BUCKHEAD,” SENT MY DOG HOME WITH A HOLE IN HER HEAD, AN OPEN WOUND, DIDN’T TELL ME AND LIED **MY REVIEW WAS REMOVED?!?” I brought my dog to Animal House Buckhead on E Paces Ferry Rd on May 24, it was her first time there. Groomers love her, she’s great for them. My dog has zero aggression, she is calm, sweet and well behaved. I was told she was excellent during the grooming. I was driving home with my dog and I put my hand on her head to pet her and my hand was all wet, it was bloody and she was oozing. I immediately headed to my vet’s office that is about two minutes from the groomer (but I was farther away, I was nearly home). I could’ve brought her to the vet much sooner had I known. I called the groomer and asked what happened. The man who groomed my dog wouldn’t get on the phone. His brother said he told me about the wound which is 100% false. I would’ve gone directly to the vet had I known. My hubby was traveling and when he found out about this he was furious. He called the groomer and they readily admitted that I wasn’t told and said they should’ve told me. The groomer offered to cover our expenses, the initial vet bill was over $800. We still don’t have an understanding of what actually happened, why I wasn’t notified stat and why they continued grooming a dog with an open wound. To think we wouldn’t notice and hinder us getting our dog medical care asap is nothing short of negligent and disgusting. They kept her for 3+ hours for what should’ve taken no more than 90 minutes and sent a dog home with a bleeding/oozing open wound without saying a SINGLE WORD about it. As an aside, my dog is never matted, she’s very well cared for and maintained and they said her coat was beautifully kept. They told me when I initially called to inquire about their grooming services that each of their groomers have 10+ years experience. Here are pics of my sweet girl, she’s almost 12, a rescue mix/mutt I’ve had since she was a very small pup. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body, this is incredibly upsetting. In the latter 2 pics the vet is separating her hair to see the wound after it was cleaned. She had a hole through skin layers on her head, they admit they knew, and they DIDN’T SAY A WORD. They chose to try and hide it.
Update: 3rd or 4th time wasn’t a charm for us. I think the team may have overbooked because the last couple of times I’ve taken him it’s just been a bath seems like. I’ve asked for a full groom per previous visit notes and it’s not the same. They are friendly just not doing it for us any longer. On to the next. I called this place on a whim a couple of weeks back, because we just moved here over a few months and it was time. They had just had a cancellation and told me to come on in. I typically get him groomed every month or so and in between I just bathe him. I miss his old groomers back in SC, but Jason was amazing accommodating my needs. Not sure if he is the groomer, but whoever is did a pretty good job. I wish I had met the groomer, would be my only complaint.
My dog came out the same way that she went in . They claimed that she didn’t like her nails clipped, so they weren’t. The build up from her draining eyes was partially still there. When i asked could they bring me a napkin so that i could wipe it a little, he pulls the build up off along with some of her fur. She’s a very well behaved 8 month old puppy, and has been groomed at least 10 times with absolutely no complaints. She wears a harness, so some of the fur on can get a little tangled from time to time. I’ve checked and the tangled fur is still there. She wasn’t even properly blown out. She has curly hair, after a groom, she looks like a little brown puff lol. Her tail wasn’t cut or barely brushed. This is my first time trying these groomers and i will NOT be coming back. I do not recommend this establishment.
Justin and the groomers are the best! I have a small dog who is a bit high strung and she mixes well with all dogs, large and small. My dog is always obedient and ready to go at Justin’s command. I’m so happy we found Animal House!
HIGHLY recommend this place. I took my lab there for the first time today and he came out super shiny and happy! Everyone there was SO welcoming and I know they took super good care of my baby. I will definitely be returning! Thank you all for being so kind and loving!!!
We LOVE this place. Maggie is amazing. We would follow her anywhere and hopefully won’t have to because everyone at this shop Is so friendly and so sweet to our baby AND they do not use crates nor kennels and the cuts are great! 5 out of 5. Every time.
Was ok. I just moved from Massachusetts and was looking for a groomer. I have to say I am shocked with Atlanta prices. Never paid more than $60 there and it’s crazy out here. Anyways this place just gives you a range of price, and then add on for stuff at random. Went from $60 to $80 just because he had matting. My dog is a silky terrier whose hair I brush regularly and it’s “silky”, never ever matted. Then they said that the groomer used some special scissors…. I was like why?? Then it was that he was difficult? It can be challenging to cut dogs nails, but isn’t that your job, training? You’re supposed to keep them calm. Just my honest thoughts and experience, that I thought I should share.
I cannot rave enough about Animal House! This is the first groomer ever where my girl doesn't immediately shake and panic when we walk inside. You can tell they take care of the dogs so well. The dogs in the waiting room always look happy. Bella always leaves with a smile and looks great. The bandanas are the cutest touch! Great quality, great customer service. I've only had top notch experiences here.
I was very impressed with Animal House. I usually don’t write reviews, but I felt compelled to since their service was so good! My dog, Brody, is a 65lb doodle mix and they did a great job with him. When I picked Brody up, they gave me a full report of how he did, how I should care for him at home, and they truly seemed to care for him. The dogs get to play with each other while they’re not being groomed—they even told me what specific dogs Brody liked to play with. They did a very thorough grooming job, and didn’t miss one spot. Thank you, Animal House!

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
