So I took a chance and tried to get my dog Bella groomed from Miami Mobile Pet Grooming and I must say it was a horrible experience. The groomer seemed like he never did the job before he was nervous and scared. Yes Bella is a big dog but she is such a scary dog she run from the tiniest dogs in our community. I asked the guy before he touched her was this is first gig and he said no so I took him at his word. When the grooming was over and I went to the van to pick her up and noticed her fur. I was instantly upset because I told them to not shave her fur seeing that her fur sticks to her skin and she is not hairy. I asked them to trim her nicely like the back of her (before her tail) and this is what they did. The original price was 160 because she weigh more than 70 pounds and because of her breed. So I called them and explained to them the situation and how unsatisfied I was with her grooming and they still had me pay 100 dollars. Not to mention she was scheduled for a full grooming nails included the groomer didn't even do her nails smh. They deducted the 60 dollars but this is ridiculous. Bella has never looked this horrible. I just cant wait for her fur to grow back. My dog is a ambassador for a dog company I definitely can not post her under these conditions. I am livid! This was my first and last time booking with them. I strongly do not recommend grooming with these company if you have a large dog. Do anyone know a grooming company that caters to large dogs like my Bella so I can book them in the near future? Has anyone else had a bad experience with Miami Mobile Dog Grooming? Please let me know. Thank you in advance. The first picture is how my Bella looked before and the last three is how they gave her back to me smh. HORRIBLE SERVICE . Wish I could rate them negative 0

We are visiting our family in Miami from California and I booked an appointment last minute to get my dog groomed before we got back to California. I’m very happy with the service my puppy received. The call center manager was very communicative and helpful. He called me to confirm the appointment and verify what I wanted to get done on my 9 months old maltipoo. I wanted to make my puppy feel special and great since it was his first grooming. Very thankful for the groomer that got my puppy looking this handsome. Thank Miami Pet’s Grooming for everything and I hope to be back soon. 💕💕💕

After reaching out to several mobile grooming services, I went back to the OG, Ernesto’s Pet Grooming, however he doesn’t service the DT area. He did recommend MPG and I’m so grateful he did! First, because so many people wouldn’t recommend or even mention another service provider in their industry and secondly, he has groomed my pups for several years and I have always been satisfied with his service. Highly recommend him if you’re in the Kendall area. MPG doesn’t have top tier reviews on yelp and after sifting through people’s complaints, it’s mostly tom foolery— at least to me it is. What I look for is a grooming service who is patient, kind and gentle. I have an old girl (she is 19, blind, and even more nervous about baths/haircuts than ever before— expected at her age). I get more nervous than her sometimes, lol. The groomer was delayed but communication was great. Although you don’t directly talk to the groomer, you talk to the grooming service agent who then communicates with the groomer, I prefer direct communication. But, that’s the way this business is built. I met Daniela and she was so sweet and nice. She understood all of my reservations and that I was ultimately looking for my pup to get a groom that will last for a while since the groomers stress her out too much. I am extremely satisfied with the outcome. While my old girl looks a lot older with less hair (her age is definitely showing now, lol) it’s needed and she seemed to tolerate it well. I will definitely be coming back to Daniela and I highly recommend her if you’re in the DT area. Price was fair as well— $78 for a bath, haircut, nails, sanitary, and ears. No teeth cleaning for this pup. Hope this helps you all who are looking for a straight forward grooming service! If you’re looking for some Westminster Dog show grooming, not sure if this is the place for that lol Happy pup, happy momma 🙏🏼❤️

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
