Reviews

Overall, customers express high satisfaction with the grooming services, particularly praising the quality, attention to detail, and the caring nature of the staff. Ashley, a standout groomer, received consistent accolades for her patience and skill, providing personalized care that makes both pets and their owners feel comfortable and valued. Most clients appreciate the effective communication during the grooming process and the efficient appointment scheduling, although there was one serious concern raised about a pet injury that deteriorated an otherwise positive experience. Despite this incident, the majority of reviews highlight a welcoming atmosphere, excellent grooming results, and a strong recommendation for Paws Pet Grooming.

Ashley A is amazing!! After a bad experience with a previous groomer, my dog was scared of being groomed. When I brought him here about a year ago, she was patient and took the time to make him comfortable. His haircut turns out great everytime, and I’d highly recommend her!

AMAZING! I took both of my dogs for the first time today. I am so pleased by their haircut and the affordable pricing! I dropped my dogs off at 10 AM and I just got them back at 1:30. They are so clean and look amazing. I will definitely be going back here.

I absolutely love this place! Even as new client they were able to squeeze me in last minute, the same day, which was so kind of them!! My dog looks lovely and the haircut was exactly what I asked for! The groomer was extremely consciousness and called me during the groom to let me know my pup had a Matt behind his ear that was unable to be brushed out and she would have to shave it which was completely fine with me but it showed her caring personality! I will absolutely be coming here again!

Great local pet groomer- everyone is so friendly and usually pretty easy to make/get appointment even with a day or two notice. If you request appointment on the website usually have a response via text or email with an hour or two. Most recently I have seen new/newer faces in last few visits so I don’t know names but again everyone is so nice and conversational. One of our pups is an Australian Shepherd so as you can imagine he could use a spa day every now and then. Whiskey comes out so handsome and fluffy each and every time- money spent is well worth it. The groomers are very good about confirming notes and what you want done (down to specifics) when you drop off your pup which I appreciate as well. I also want to add the earlier you drop off your pup the sooner you get to pick him up and I really like that about Paws Pet as well - and he's not sitting there all day. I find it very timely from drop off to pick up.

I've been bringing my Goldendoodle to Ashley A twice a month for over a year now. She does an amazing job and he loves her......he never wants to leave! She's so good with the animals and with their owners too! She always takes the time to communicate any concerns which I appreciate. She's dependable, professional and has great customer service skills. She's such a pleasure to work with and definitely my go to person at Paws!

Very happy with this place! Sam did an amazing job with my rescue kitty. She asked me some questions at drop off to figure out what I wanted and my cat’s personality, and called me halfway through the groom to give me an update. The staff here actually care about your animal and we’re extremely kind. The groom is worth every penny.

I will not bring my dogs back here ever again. I had come a couple of times & everything was fine, but this time I took my two dogs immediately before a vacation and one got hurt. I understand that accidents happen but at least have the decency to tell me that it happened. My husband and I noticed a few minutes into our drive home that one of our dogs kept licking his paw and when we looked at it we could see a bleeding gash on his leg. I took this picture maybe five minutes away from the groomers & we hadn’t gone anywhere else before or after. Thank God we noticed it and were able to take care of it right away. Also we noticed one of his eyes wasn’t able to open all the way and when we took him to an emergency vet to find out what was wrong we learned that he had scratch on that eye. I don’t know if the eye issue came from the groomer but the gash on his leg definitely did and the timing is suspicious. If you hurt a dog then tell the owner so we can fix it right away. I would’ve had more respect for the company for not trying to sweep it under the rug when my dog was in pain thanks to them.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
