5 Stars! Best ever! Julianna and Edward are kind, patient, and listen to your requests. Their passion for grooming and care for animals shines through! Great experience every time! Kind to animals and give a free toy at end of groom! That’s my pups favorite part! Thank you! My pup loves his cut with Mohawk! He’s the talk of the town in my neighborhood after he visits the salon! No nicks or skin cuts, as does happen in other salons. So that’s a huge plus. Especially when my goldendoodle’s hair is hard for me to maintain. Usually matted a bit by the time he visits. I give an A+++.

My experience was amazing! The staff was very accommodating because our original appointment was before Hurricane Milton, but they were able to reschedule and continued to follow up. My pup Nico is an Alaskan Malamute and he’s about 74lbs, so he’s a big boy. This was his first professional grooming experience and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous because he’s friendly and likes to play. However, his size can be misinterpreted as aggression. He’s also not very fond of water. Long Story short, they got the job done and he’s as fresh as can be and I’m glad I chose this business. We were able to do a basic wash alongside a deshedding treatment for his undercoat. They also clipped his nails. Malamutes don’t get bathed as often as other dogs because it harms their coat, but I would definitely return for some of their other services.

This is my Mushu’s face after his monthly spa day at Lola’s! As a pet mama who brings her fur baby in almost twice a month, Edward is amazing with my little guy and all of the staff here are phenomenal. They have excellent communication and will ensure that they provide the best service.

Must read entire post…First let me preface this, we had a very bad experience in the past with another grooming company so it had been a while. Upon the recommendation of a colleague from work who uses the South Tampa shop, I decided to take a chance. When making the appointment I was told that there was a shop closer to me, Hindsight, I should have gone to the one in South Tampa that she recommended. That being sad my baby was not traumatized with B&L but I was very disappointed, I asked for his hair to be left as long as possible. I even paid extra for de-matting which I understood would allow for his hair to remain a little longer. No communication (text or call) from the groomer that this could not be done. The result. He was shaved (from head to the tip of his tail) not groomed. I could have done that and saved $$$. On a positive note the groomer seemed nice and my pup was happy when I arrived to pick him up. This to is temporary…his hair will grow back Update: Co Owner Francisco called to discuss what happened and apologized for the communication gap…worked out an agreement and assured me that the communication issue would not be a problem again Thank you for putting the customer (our family- my pup) first. Because of the follow up stars increased from 2 to 4

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
