Many reviews commend the thorough and compassionate care given to pets, including respectful handling of nervous or older animals. Customers appreciate the affordable pricing and the range of services offered, including specialized care for unique breeds like English Angoras and senior pets. However, a few negative experiences surfaced, with complaints about mishandling by staff leading to injuries and poor treatment, which diminish the otherwise positive reputation of the establishment.

Took our English Angora for her quarterly grooming to Pet Epoque for the first time. We are happy to say that we found the spot. We are very happy with the service and the way our Twix looks. They were knowledgeable about the grooming and haircut requirements for an English Angora, which is hard to find. Thank you!!!

Great price, nice people, great results. Affordable "AKA realistic prices" with a friendly, knowledge staff. The owner even took the time to give me some tips about my dog's training. My dog came out like new ;)

I've brought 4 dogs to Janet and her partner for 3 years and they never disappoint. The place is small but the owners are very professional and care about the pets. Prices a very affortable and they have added teeth cleaning and other services. My oldest dog Beny needed a teeth cleaning but I was afraid of anaesthesia and they had told me at Bandfield he needed many extractions. I brought him here and not only did he get his teeth pearly white but he didn't need to be put under anaesthesia or have teeth pulled. He is safe and smells great!! I am very impressed and continue to travel from Broward for them. I totally recommend them for grooming and teeth cleaning.

They saved my newly adopted cat’s life. I took him for a regular grooming session and they let me know he was anemic and needed help. I took him to the emergency room and he’s much better. Thank you so much.

Terrible experience. I went in June 2023. They hurt my dog’s genitalia with the razor and I had over $500 in vet bills as a function of that. They were also so so mean. Just like hugely arrogant. The worse grooming experience I’ve ever had.

Seriously LOVED this place! Randomly decided to try it because my puppies coat was too long and they were great. He looks SOO cute! Low cost, great service. I am definitely coming back. My puppy was treated very kindly and when I came back to get him he was adorable. This was his first puppy haircut and bath so I was happy they were able to care for him so easily. The women at the front desk are super nice. Thoroughly enjoyed this whole experience.

We were visiting from out of town and found this groomer. Our doodle had a lot of huge knots, and she was able to get them out. She called us several times to give us an update and allow us to make decisions about her hair cut. When we got her back we couldn’t believe how soft and fluffy she was. Our groomers at home never get her to look like that, it was amazing!

So happy I found this place!!! They treated my Miniature Schnauzer, Chiqui, like a Princess! They received me with love and smiles and I felt the place was clean. I always took her to Petco, but the drive was far and always hard to get an appointment. I read a few reviews and felt comfortable in trying it out. They actually stayed after hours to finish her up! It's a bit hard to find the store. You have to park, get off and go inside the shops to get to them. The guy is super nice and the lady is super sweet. Will be my new place to go to from now on!

This is the second time I take my miniature schnauzer here. They have been very good and patient with him because he is an old dog. Good price and good service. The staff was friendly and took care carefully of my dog.

I LOVE TAKING ZOEY HERE. 1. She loves them 2. They love her. They have sooo much patience. I first took her when she was 3 months old and she was very afraid but they returned her to me happy and excited. She actually didn’t want to leave! They also have very low prices and a lot of packaging deals. They’re so nice and caring. 10/10 would recommend.

I have a senior Schnauzer that I adore with my life his name is Yony, he is 14 years old and he is a bit fragile so I am uneasy taking him to Get groomed based on previous experience. A friend of mine recommended me Pet Epoque Grooming a while back and i am so happy with the love and professionalism they do their work that I have become a regular of them, my dog comes out fully Groomed smelling wonderful so elegant and most important so happy. I recommend them, they have a small shop but Huge Quality for sure.

I took dogs here because my neighbor died and I adopted all the dogs because they had gotten really close to me and their only option was to come with me. They were poorly taken care of because my neighbor was an older man who could not take them to the vet or groomer. Well, two of them bark a lot and are quite the rebels. We told them this when we got there, and I even asked them what do they do when they get aggressive, they told me they had to use a nuzzle. They promised that they would not abuse them and claimed to work with the humane society. Thirty minutes later after leaving (not even), I get a call from of one the girls who says that they cannot see my dogs because they are too aggressive. I asked whether I could take 30 minutes and the other girl took the phone and said that I needed to go NOW, so I simply responded that I needed some time to drive there. When I got there, the dogs were immobilized on the tables and it was not because of the leashes, it was from exhaustion and god knows what else. They were pooped and I felt COLD water coming out of the little one's mouth. They continued to drool on the way home, and when it was time to get off the car, one of them would not even move. They were drooling at the mouth, which they never do, because of how thirsty they were; it might have been dehydration the reason they were immobile but I had a feeling it was something else. Also, what's even worse, when I came to pick them up, the main door was locked and the girl had to come to open it. Why would the door be closed and locked??? I cannot even think about what these horrible people might have done to them!!! I had previously taken these dogs to the groomer before but in a different area, and they had no problem, so I do not understand how these people managed to have so many problems with them!!!! DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE!

I took my fussy yorkie named Johnny to them and they did a great job. I had gone to many groomers before and it left Johnny scare to death of the groomers. The ladies that worked with Johnny had a lot of patience and compassion for him and I really appreciate that. The way they handed Johnny was great and he looks great as well. Also they have the best doggie clothes I have seen, if you are in to that. Overall, I will be visiting them again and you should too!

We dropped off our dogs (a chihuahua and a maltese mix) at 9:30am and had to pick them up at 5pm and when I got there my dog had a huge chunk of hair ripped off, furthermore my dog came home extremely thirsty which indicates he was not given any water while there. When I brought it up to the owner he started arguing with me that it was a scar, even though I've had my dog for 10 years and have never seen this. The picture is here and speaks for itself so you can judge for yourself. If you want to wait 8 hours and then pick up your pets with things like this on their coat then take them here otherwise find somewhere else to take them. Hope this helps!

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
