⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The team at Urban Sophisticats always does an amazing job with my Ragdoll cats, Charlie and Ritzy. They take such great care to ensure they’re mat-free, beautifully groomed, and smelling fantastic every single time. Their attention to detail is exceptional, especially with the belly and sanitary shaves, which are done with the utmost care. I’m so grateful for their professionalism and the love they show to my fur babies. Highly recommend them to any cat parent! 🐾
This is our first fluffy kitty, and our first time getting her groomed. She had some pretty bad mats and was shedding more than usual so we brought her in. Sadly a couple of years ago, our dog passed away during a teeth cleaning at her vet, so ever since that happened I am always a total wreck leaving our pets anywhere, no matter how routine the visit. But the gal who took in our kitty was so sweet, comforting and was very professional so I felt like a was leaving our kitty in such good hands. She gave me such peace of mind. This is such a great small business! Our girl is smooth, shiny and her fur looks so much healthier. They really did a wonderful job! It was way more expensive than I thought it would be but it’s worth it because they do such a great job. Thanks so much!!
This place is amazing and their staff is super kind. We’ve brought both of our Persian cats here and the detail that goes into the grooming process is in point. They are even patient and kind to us even though cat was not kind to them. Update Dec 2024: we continue to bring our Persian cat here for a regular maintenance groom and an occasional lion cut, both my husband and I interact with the staff and everyone is great! Our cat comes home fresh and doesn’t seem affected by the experience
First time bringing my cat to a groomer, and they were fantastic! Kitty looks and feels awesome. Very nice place, I'll be back!
I needed to bring my long-haired buddy somewhere to take care of some mats on his rear beyond my ability to manage, and our vet’s office recommended Urban Sophisticats. I have never taken a cat to a groomer before so felt a bit nervous he might not have a good time but Pumpkin has seemed so much more comfortable and happy in the last 24 hours! Bonus, he’s been more cuddly than usual too, seeming to enjoy getting pet much more now. Definitely glad these folks are around to do this! And super happy to see my buddy so relaxed and content post-grooming! Thanks!!! 😻
THEY SHAVED MY BOYFRIEND'S CAT. Lenny had some mats in his fur and I was told that they may need to trim, TRIM, his fur to get them out. No mention of a lion cut (which I would have said "absolutely not" to) and no mention of shaving. They finished Lenny an hour after I was told to expect him and the checkout asked me for tip on the $180 bill when I didn't even get to see Lenny out of his carrier or the work they'd done on him. It wasn't until I got home and let him out that I realized THEY SHAVED MY BOYFRIEND'S CAT. My boyfriend is going to be so pissed :( Edit: notice they respond the same way to every bad review and I want it to be clear, in their response they are lying through their teeth. As if my frustration with their lack of professionalm somehow justifies it. Ridiculous.
I've been taking my Rag there since he was 3 months old. 4 years later, it's the only place I'd ever take him.
I drive every 5 weeks from NE Denver to Littleton on Saturday to have my two Persians groomed by Rachel, Shain, and team. I know everyone there. I adore the shop cats and I adore this shop. Everyone there knows that I love my cats more than people. This shop is well worth any associated cost. I pay for quality, I pay for safety, and in return I get a beautiful cut, sani trim, and soft paw installation. As Americans we spend so much time complaining, I want to praise companies where it is deserved.
McKenna was so amazing oh my gosh. I have a very spicy kitty, she’s actually the worst. She’s great with me but I know how she gets once I’m not around. That being said it has been very difficult to find a groomer confident enough to work with her and I seriously don’t think I’ve ever had this little gremlin come home looking as good as she did after her appointment! I do believe there was another groomer who help McKenna with my terror of a cat 😂 but I don’t quite remember the name of who but I seriously cannot recommend these guys enough. I am so happy I made the 30 minute drive!
This place is awesome! McKenna did a wonderful job on our elderly mom's very matted cat. My brother and I were stressed about the severe mats on the cat and how freaked out she was. McKenna made sassy Shiney and new she wad so peaceful and beautiful when we picked her up!! We highly recommend this business for exceptional care for your cat! Thank you so much!

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
