Aleta treated my puppy Lola with love and kindness. Scheduling was a breeze, she communicated with me promptly, and Lola can't wait to go see her again. Lola has a very thick undercoat, which requires deshedding for every groom, but Aleta never complains and Lola comes home looking AMAZING every time. Aleta is super patient trimming Lola's nails, which Lola does NOT like. I simply cannot recommend Aleta and Pawtential Pet Salon highly enough. Anyone can take their beloved pet there, and be assured they will be treated wonderfully, plus they will get clean and smell great!!!

I always love bringing my fur baby in for a cut and color here! My little babe loves the extra love she gets from people when she has a fun hair color. The attention to detail Aleta always gives is worth the out of the way drive. She's worth every penny and my baby always leaves beautiful and happy. Aleta is amazing and she's definitely our favorite groomer!! 10/10

The staff are friendly. When my dog first went to the groomer he was nervous. But after meeting the staff he has fallen smitten with everyone. He gets so excited to go get groomed. Aleta always does a great job on our dog. We are so thankful we found this salon! Here are before and after of his most recent grooming.

To the owner of Pawtential, some feedback about the environment. From looking at your ratings, your technicians do a great job! When I showed up to book an appointment, there was blaring hard, rock music in the grooming room. Perhaps some dogs can handle this, but mine could not so I cancelled our appointment. I’m pretty certain there are a lot of little nervous dogs like mine that don’t deal well with loud noise so this review is more of a heads up for other Pet people. And I also understand you want to make it a positive work environment. Btw, I did mention this to the receptionist when I called to cancel the appointment. No response back, indicating that she would pass along the feedback.

I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed bringing my dogs here! My nervous babies have never been so comfortable with a groomer before and Taylor is the bee's knees! My Alfred and goose come home beautiful and smelling great and I wouldn't trust another salon with their care! Thanks Taylor and Pawtential!!!!

Here’s a suggestion for your review: I’ve been a loyal client of Pawtential Dog Grooming because the staff is wonderful and has always treated my pets with care. However, their booking system is incredibly frustrating and unreliable. My appointment, which I scheduled back in July, was mishandled due to errors in their CRM system. I called and texted to confirm the appointment, but no one responded. When I finally spoke with the staff, I was informed that I needed to prepay for my next appointment. I declined, as it wasn’t my fault their system failed or that my messages weren’t received. I even provided proof via email, but the issue wasn’t resolved. Adding to this, I’m currently dealing with the loss of a family member, and the lack of professionalism and empathy in this situation has been incredibly disappointing. When I mentioned I’d prefer to discuss this matter face-to-face if I weren’t attending a funeral, they claimed to feel threatened, which was a complete misrepresentation of my intent. I ended the call politely, wishing them a nice day, but this entire experience has left a bad impression. While the grooming itself has always been great, the disorganization and poor communication make it hard to trust their services going forward. 11/20 646pm Sabrina King emailed me screenshots. If you feel threatened having a conversation with me, why are you emailing me screenshots? I never said I didn’t believe you. Both you and Bea have told me your online system is problematic, yet the manager refuses to replace it. I sent you these screenshots on Saturday when we were on the phone, but you missed the point. Your lack of understanding and professionalism is not the kind of company I want to represent or be associated with. I have reached out to you with proof, yet you’re asking me to prepay for an appointment when I primarily pay in cash. This experience makes me question how many others have faced similar issues.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
