Overall, customers express high satisfaction with their experiences at Pampered Paws, consistently praising the quality of grooming and the staff's caring attitude towards their pets. Many reviews highlight the groomers' ability to make animals feel comfortable and stress-free, regardless of their grooming challenges. While most feedback is overwhelmingly positive, one customer did express disappointment over an uneven cat grooming experience, suggesting that care for feline clients may require more attention. I took my ragdoll cat in today to get groomed. I just adopted her and wasn’t sure how she would do. Carter did such an amazing job with my cat. They really put my mind at ease as well and went over the whole process and if there were any issues they would stop. They also give such a cute report card after talking about how your animal did. If I ever need grooming I will come here again!

I can’t thank Carter at Pampered Paws enough for the amazing care they provided for my dog. My pup used to be really scared of baths, but after the grooming session, she was calm and happy! The staff was so patient, kind, and gentle with her, making the whole experience stress-free for both of us. I truly appreciate how they went above and beyond to make sure my dog was comfortable throughout the process. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring, professional groomer!

I found Pampered Paws on a whim while doing a Google search and I’m so glad my search led me here! Sam groomed our golden retriever, Rudy, and did an incredible job!! He doesn’t typically love the groomer but he seemed so happy and not anxious like he normally is. Plus he smells incredible! Will definitely be returning for another visit!

Pampered Paws may not be the most convenient location for me, but I’m convinced they’re the best dog groomer in Denver. After trying multiple groomers and leaving disappointed every time, Pampered Paws has truly set the bar. No one else has come close to matching the quality of their work. I’ve always been beyond satisfied with how they groom my Maltese. Even on occasions when she’s been a bit matted, they’ve done an amazing job blending the areas they needed to cut. She always smells incredible after her appointments, white as ever, and the groomers are consistently welcoming and comforting. While it might be a bit pricey, it’s worth every penny—this is Denver, after all, and their results speak for themselves. If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would!

We love Pampered Paws! We’ve been taking our dog here for at least 2 years and have always been so happy with how he comes out! We have 100+ lb Bernese mountain dog, so no easy grooming feat. He is always treated so well and comes out looking (& smelling) amazing. We really trust the groomers with his specific coat type and treating him so carefully! Highly recommend!

Update: Finally was able to speak with someone from Pampered Paws, they were able to give me a partial refund since they were unable to bathe her. They do have really nice staff members, so I appreciate that. The shock I had when I got home and saw how was cat was .. groomed..? She was really matted when I took her in and has underlying skin issues but the "lion" cut she got was just so uneven.. I've taken her to other groomers in the past and they did a good job just shaving her down completely, was always told she did well while getting groomed and bathed.. but once I got home , I was soooo sad with how she looked. It was uneven and was told they couldn't bathe her because she was not cooperating and they also did not do a waterless bath because might irritate her skin.. I understand that completely. But I was charged $120 for an uneven cut???? Very disappointed. I recently moved to the Denver area So Was looking for a new groomer in the area closer to me, but this was just very disappointing and not worth the money I'm very disappointed that I was even charged the full amount when she didn't even get a bath. I am giving two stars instead of one because the staff was nice enough, but honestly I don't know why I was charged the full price.. don't mind the red marks around her neck that was just from a little collar she didn't like and would scratch at, but the last photo is from the last groomers I took her to, very Even very clean, not a lion cut, but definitely better than whatever happened at pampered paws lol. I do also have a toy poodle that I was hoping to bring here and I would like to continue being a customer, but I am just not very sure if I should. It looks like the dogs groomed have good reviews. Maybe it was just a one time thing with my cat?

Groomer was so nice and did such a great job on my dog’s haircut. Prices are very fair, they also have a bunch of food/ treats/ other pet needs for sale in store. My pup had such a great time, he passed out as soon as he got home. ☺️

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
