My dog will lead me to the front door of Luke’s from blocks away. It’s his favorite spot. The staff there spoils him and is always so great with him every time we’re in. It the exact kind of neighborhood shop you want to have nearby. They have great treat and toy options, but the perhaps the most useful thing is the dog wash set ups. You can bring your own supplies and or use what they have available for a great price. Luke’s is the best and we literally can’t say they name around our pup.
What a cool place. Snagged this toy off the giant toy wall for my super chewer Boston Finn and it's been the can't live without fave for a few weeks and SURVIVED. I think the brand was Tough Stuffie? But it's soft like my BT loves but super durable underneath so although slimed to death and missing it's beak it's hangin' in! Lots of the "tough" toys are zero match for my furbaby and they're just that - tough. He likes the fuzzy babies. I swear I'm a good mom and it gets washed twice a week don't don't judge me by the pic! Staff was nice and the counter is lined with scarves for doggos handmade by owner Luke's mom. If that doesn't tell ya how they're rollin' I don't know what does. Packed, cute, friendly and apparently home to the first actual "super chewer" toy. Finn with his Chicken.
Eli has done such an incredible job grooming my long haired Pyrenees mix. I spent two years in Denver getting very choppy and inconsistent grooms for my dog until I finally found Eli. He does an incredible job and I would recommend him to anyone!
This is the most amazing pet store I have ever been to! Luke, the owner, went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and taken care of. The other team members are wonderful as well. I will absolutely be coming back for all of my dog's needs — top quality dog food, delicious treats, grooming, and more. So grateful to have found a pet store that truly cares and can't recommend enough.
Have always had a great experience at Luke & Co. The variety of pet food brands helped us decide on a dog food that didn't upset or german shepherd's tummy. The self wash bathing stations are very helpful and affordable. I recommend Luke & Co to anyone with pets!
I have been to Luke & Co twice in the past month. My GSD and I both have enjoyed looking at all the options for food, treats, and supplies. Also, we have used their dog wash services, which was a bonus surprise. Highly recommend!
I was recommended Luke’s by a customer at my work. I thought I would give it a try since my normal pet food store is all the way down in Lakewood. The staff member that helped me was super nice. She took me to the product and even helped me to get what I needed off the top shelf (because I’m a little peewee lol). I wish I would have gotten her name so I could give her proper kudos but thank you for helping me find all the tiki cat goodies for my little cancer boy!
Every employee we’ve encountered here has been so nice and helpful. Our dog is a picky eater and we got some great suggestions to help with that. We take our dog to get baths here too. The ease and convenience is worth the short drive rather than trying to bathe her in our house.
My favorite pet store in Denver! The have such a great selection of high quality pet food and treats, and the employees are always friendly and happy to help. They are also so awesome about letting you return things that dint work out for you. My pup loves joining me in, and especially loves when he gets to try a new treat! Got his birthday bone here and he loved it.
This is hands down the best pet store in Colorado. I recently moved away from the Denver area and just couldn't find a store that compares in quality of products, grooming, and staff friendliness. So now I just drive there from the suburbs. From the day I started shopping at Luke and Co their staff has helped me find the best food and treats for my stomach sensitive pup and Val gives him the best haircuts. I am always met with kindness and compassion from their staff and it means so much. Luke and his staff are amazing and provide the best pet store experience one could have.

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
