We’ve been going to Gidgets for years - back before they were in this location. They do a fantastic job with our dogs and are reasonably priced compared to many other grooming places. Highly recommend!

Sharon, Hannah & Co. have always taken great care of our dog Lucy and have for several years now. Lucy is a bit of a nervous Nelly, patience and kindness always get her through any reluctance. Everyone at Gidget's makes her feel at home and she always looks great. Strongly recommend.

We have only had positive experiences with this groomer. They have been very patient with our puppy who still gets some anxiety with going to the groomer. The groomers listen to our requests and executed perfectly! They even asked if we needed any adjustments when we came to pick up pup up! We highly recommend Gidgets!

Save yourself money and spare your dog from unnecessary suffering—do not use Gidget’s Grooming. I had previously used Gidget’s Grooming without incident, but my last experience was nothing short of a nightmare. When I arrived to pick up my dog, he was returned to me with blood oozing from his eye and his eye itself was swollen and irritated. Naturally, I was alarmed and immediately brought this to the attention of the owner at the front desk. Instead of addressing the issue, the owner called out the “groomer,” who proceeded to insist that what I was seeing was not blood. Despite the clear evidence, she repeatedly wiped at the area in a futile attempt to convince me that my dog’s eye wasn’t injured. At one point, I had to ask her to stop touching my dog because her actions were not only unhelpful but also distressing. The groomer showed no remorse or concern for the well-being of my clearly traumatized pet. Her explanation—that my dog must have bumped into something—was absurd and clearly a desperate attempt to deflect responsibility. My dog is a very careful animal and has never had such an injury from merely running around at home. The lack of compassion and professionalism was astonishing. When I was leaving, the owner casually mentioned that if I took my dog to the vet, they could discuss how to "help." This was far too little, too late. I am deeply upset by the lack of care and empathy displayed, and I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this grooming service.

Been going to Gidgets for a few years now to get my 2 Maine Coons groomed. Hannah always does an amazing job and is so kind and accommodating! The rest of the staff is always pleasant and I love that you really get a personal experience as soon as you walk in. You can tell they take great pride in their work and business. Definitely recommend! Especially for kitties :) Shinobi loves his new do!

Hannah from Gidget's Grooming is the best! My Chow Chow and German shepherd go to Hannah for grooming. It was Hannah who initially noticed that my Chow Chow might have a medical condition. After taking her to the vet, a medical team confirmed that she needed treatment. We probably would not have noticed this for a while, were it not for Hannah looking out for our girl. Also, when my German shepherd of late passed away unexpectedly, the staff at Gidget's mailed a thoughtful card. Your pets will be in excellent hands with Gidget's Grooming!

Gudgets Grooming has always been a great groomer for me. Until today. I took my dog in to be groomed on April 24th. I paid a reasonable price and even left a $20 tip, as they did a good job. They just charged my account today on May 6th. A week and a half later. This has thrown my account into the negative and my bank charged me $35. I just spoke with the manager and she told me they had, at that time, had a problem with their card machine. She refused to take responsibility and would not refund my overdraft. That's all I wanted and was fair. She said it was not her problem. Really?! Needless to say, I will never take an animal there again. Beware!

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
