We took our golden retriever here for the first time. Very reasonable prices and excellent service! She looks so pretty. They did a great job trimming her too. Will definitely return. Easy parking, easy to book, very friendly people.

I’ve been taking my dog to Sandy’s Grooming for years and have always been happy, but I decided to give Muddy Paws a try because their prices were a bit lower. The first couple of visits were fine, not great, but passable. However, the last experience was terrible. I have a cocker spaniel and specifically asked for a traditional cocker cut. The groomer didn’t seem to know what that was, which should have been my first red flag. Instead of checking or asking for clarification, she went ahead and cut my dog’s legs extremely short, completely ignoring the breed-specific style. The result looked nothing like a proper cocker cut, my dog looked awful. I’m extremely disappointed and won’t be coming back. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

They’ve always been sweet to us, and follow through with the things we ask. Our golden retriever always comes back to us smelling great, feeling soft, and blinged out with bows and a bandana. They have some bakery items, leashes, and collars available for purchase in the lobby. They do take quite a while sometimes, but we have a pretty big dog.

They did such a amazing job with my puppy. My partner & I loved what they did with our pit bull puppy.. He looks awesome and smells great. Thank you for taking the time with our puppy. We appreciate the fact you took our baby.

This was my first time taking our Frenchie/Pug mix Buddha in for a bath. I am beyond pleased and grateful for their excellent service throughout our experience. You can tell when people really care about your pets! Clean facility, professional, and good rates. Buddha is a bit shy but they were patient with him and when I picked him up he came out happy as a clam! Definitely a popular groomer for a reason and I'm glad to have them so close to home. He even had a little sushi bandana that matched his collar when we left. We will definitely be coming back 💖❣️ all in all if your looking to groom your pet then look no further! Update: I've taken Buddha few times now. Service is great but they're hard to reach. I've been trying to book for a couple months with no luck. You leave a voice-mail and then they call you back. Sometimes it's bit of phone tag. I know Buddha isn't the easiest considering you have to carry him inside the groomers, but everytime they always say he was great so idk. Kinda bummed I really liked this place since they're affordable, nice, and we can literally walk to the groomers.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
