Reviews
Customers overwhelmingly praise Mary, the groomer, for her exceptional service and deep care for cats. Many highlight her ability to create a calm, stress-free environment, noting that she treats each cat with individualized attention and respect. Cleanliness and a cat-only grooming space are frequently mentioned as significant advantages, providing a comforting atmosphere devoid of the chaos often associated with mixed pet environments. While most reviews reflect high satisfaction and a commitment to returning, one review expresses serious concerns about mishandling, specifically incidents involving injuries to a cat, which contrasts sharply with the otherwise positive feedback received. Overall, Mary is regarded as a skilled groomer who genuinely cares for the well-being of the cats she services, though potential clients are advised to weigh all reviews before deciding.
As a crazy cat mom—stop your search here! This is THE ONE! At first, I was taken aback by the detailed requirements on her website. I thought, This lady might be way too strict—maybe even a mean Karen. But I couldn’t have been more wrong. She’s the sweetest little Korean lady, and one thing is certain: she LOVES cats and is absolutely GREAT with them. I may have lucked out because my cats were the only ones there, which is amazing. I have two cats, so I’m sure they kept her hands full, but I loved that it’s just her running everything—no assistants or chaos. The place is spotlessly clean. I have diagnosed OCD, and trust me, if I say it’s clean, it’s immaculate. This was my first visit, and she immediately stood out from other groomers. Instead of barely glancing at the carrier and chatting with me like most places do, she took my cats straight to the back, placed them on the floor, got down on the floor with them, and gently opened the bag to greet each one. She took the time to get a feel for their personalities firsthand, which I thought was so thoughtful. After all, no matter what an owner says, you won’t really know how a cat will behave until you interact with them yourself. My Persians are super chill, so they just peeked their heads out at her curiously—but I loved how she handled the introduction. She clearly knows what she’s doing! The grooming process took about three hours for both cats, which was great. I waited in my car and didn’t mind at all—I just scrolled on my phone. Next time, though, I’ll probably head home since it’s only a 10-minute drive each way. When I picked them up, I was stunned. She was holding my older, more skittish cat like she was the most relaxed, everyday lap cat. I can’t even hold my own cat like that! She told me that my nervous cat doesn’t like the grooming table, so she figured out that holding her and working on the floor in her arms and lap made her much calmer. That level of attentiveness and care blew me away—most groomers wouldn’t bother to accommodate a cat like that, let alone think to try. She even noted it in her system to remember for next time. As for my boy Persian? No special notes needed—he’s easy and was a breeze for her to groom. I can’t believe I hadn’t found her sooner. What initially drew me in was her advertisement for no anesthesia grooming. I didn’t think anyone used anesthesia, but my last experience at a Koreatown groomer proved me wrong—my cats were strange and lethargic for days afterward. After today’s grooming, my cats came home perfectly normal, happy, and hungry! No weird behavior or after-effects whatsoever. Pricing was very reasonable: $150 per cat, which is about what I expected since I keep up with their grooming regularly. I was worried she might charge more since it had been a couple of months, but she didn’t. I tipped $50 on top of the $300 because she earned every penny. This groomer is the real deal. Her personality, skill, and ability to communicate with cats are unmatched. She understands that cats need to be worked with, not against—a huge contrast to those who handle cats like dogs, which only terrifies them. I’ve dealt with chaotic dual groomers that take dogs and cats at the same time, and I can’t tell you how relieved I am to have found a calm, quiet, clean place where my cats feel safe. If you’re a cat parent who’s as picky as I am, stop looking. She’s the one.
I can’t say enough good things about Mary. She is amazing with kitties. Treats them so well, she has patience and she cares. She only sees cats which is what I love because they are never stressed out with dogs barking (and I Iove dogs. I have 1) but for cats is not the best to mix and go to a groomer that does dogs and cats. All my cats love Mary and I will continue bringing them to her always. I will never change groomers ever again. I love her! They always look amazing and they all have different hair types so some need different styles and at the end they all look so great.
We were a little hesitant on getting our cat groomed, since he's been having sensitive skin/fur issues. So thankful that we were able to find Mary, she was absolutely fantastic and we now have someone to go to consistently for all our cat grooming needs. Immediately she knew how to respect our cat and gave us her advice on the type of services that our cat may need, even if it was the cheaper option. There was only one other cat there that was getting dried, and since our cat is a little territorial, she was able to gain his favor by taking out a churu treat to calm him. When we came back to pick him up after 1.5 - 2 hours, he looked great and we could tell from his tail and his walk that he felt very comfortable there. He's been sleeping so much better after the grooming session and we are so grateful for this service.
I read the reviews, positive and negative, about claims of cuts or mishandling vs good. Our experience was the very best we’ve had. Obviously you need to decide what’s best for your cat. Ours: is a senior persian cat that never bites or scratches, not even squirms, so an easy client. There is one review that says their cats nipples were shaved. I checked mine and his are intact ✌️ Mary was very considerate before cutting to ask thoughtful questions to ensure maximal comfort and healthy grooming, and drew my attention to dandruff or oil that needed care, and she clearly cared a lot for our cats well being. Polite, respectful, would love to come here again.
Mary took her time to make sure my cat’s first grooming experience was not a stressful one. He was very nervous and jumpy when we first arrived, but when I came back to pick him up, he was so calm and relaxed and clean and happy. He even stayed quiet and calm during the car ride back home. You can see she cares a lot about the cat’s wellbeing. Prices were great, and she did not push me to do any services my cat didn’t need. She is very honest and gave me helpful information about my cat after spending time with him.
my cat was very matted and bc of how bad the traffic was, we were late & had to change her originally scheduled bath & cut to just a cut. i very much appreciated mary for being so patient and careful with my cat. unfortunately my cat started to get anxious halfway through the cut; however, i will happily return to finish and get a bath (after getting my cat some calming meds) bc i trust mary to do a great job :)
Professional and polite. Mary was very kind, courteous and gentle with our dear Marceline. The experience was overall very wonderful. Would definitely recommend!
Mary did an excellent jobThank you. I am sure I will be back again Kind of pricing but well worth it !👌 👍 😺
BE AWARE! There is only one groomer/owner so yes we are talking about the same person. She seems nice up until you make a complaint. I don't even understand how it's possible to shave off my cat's nippIes, twice; however, her reaction was even more absurd. It's been a year that I've been taking my cat and all other rescue cats to this place After the first grooming, I noticed one of her top nippIe was diminished and had a black ring around it. I asked her, and she said there is nothing wrong with it; that it’s just some dead skin cell. I was like weird but ok since I never really saw a shaved off nippIe before. Last week she ended up shaving my cats nippIes AGAIN, 2 of them. She did not tell me; I found it out 2 days later, and it looked exactly as the first one, black ring around it, just that this time, she shaved off even deeply. I sent her message along with the pictures and her response was like I'm sorry, I was busy so I didn't pay much attention, I didn't know because it wasn't bleeding, I will do better next time. I was very upset that she did not take this matter seriously, I mean she shaved off my cat's nippIes and just continued to wash and blow dry her. My cat must have suffered an intense pain, and she is acting as if I was complaining about a bad haircut. She said "I said sorry, what else can I do," and I said at least other groomers tell customers to go to the vet, pays vet bill and refund the grooming fee or something. She repeatedly said going to the vet was totally unnecessary since there was no inflammation shown, and that was it. She said since she uses blade(clipper), all other customers come to her being aware that this kind of thing can happen and told me that this happens time to time so don't consider it as a BIG DEAL. Also told me the story about shaving off another cat's nippIe, and how she also told the customer that the vet won’t do anything about it. The day of the incident, there was another cat inside the cage with automatic blow dryer on, and her cellphone speaker was on with a loud sermon whatever. She just took my cat in without even cleaning the other cat's fur. After shaving the back of my cat, she left my cat on the table unattended, and took the other cat out and started to do the blow dry and finishing job. My cat got scared and jumped on to the screen door and one of her claw got stuck in the screen door handle and her body just dangled there. I was the one who got in and hold my cat because she didn't even know what happened since she was turned back busy blow drying the other cat. I didn't say anything about it that day and gave 25% tip hoping that she pays more attention to my cat next time. I told this matter while I was telling about the nipple thing and she told me not to complain about her handling 2 cats at once because that is her discretion, and tried to convince me again that claws of cats falls really easily, that shaving off cats nippIe and claw falling are the MOST COMMON THINGS THAT HAPPEN IN GROOMING SHOPS. At the end she tried to blame my cat. My cat is very shy and timid. She freezes when she is scared. And now she is blaming my cat saying she acted differently? I saw my cat, she was frozen with all that loud sound and distraction, and my cat could have acted differently than before during bath because she was in PAIN. She tried to convince me that she did not tell me because it didn't bleed, but my 2 vets told me OF COURSE IT BLEEDS, and that the groomer should've stop and let me know right away so that I can take her to the vet. My vet still wanted to check if my cat was ok, but my cat was so traumatized that she went crazy when I was trying to take her out, so the vet told me to monitor at home instead. Yes she "apologized" but after all these ridiculous excuses, her apology was just meaningless. My cat used to love getting belly rub but now she is so scared she is hidden behind the door most of the time and comes out only when she feels it’s safe. I truly wish no cat goes through the same traumatic situation that my cat experienced.
Mary is amazing!!!! She is like a cat whisperer. My cat never lets me near her claws and so her nails get ingrown. Mary was able to calm her down and trim her nails very quickly and did such a good job!! Thank you Meow Cat grooming ❤️❤️

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
