Got a student groom Tidy Trim service done on Keanu, a wooly pomsky. They did such a great job and when they found mats on his chest that couldn’t be brushed out they called and asked permission to cut them out which I gave. I had been contemplating doing that myself but with a newborn at home it’s been hard to maintain Keanu’s wooly coat on my own. The student grooming sessions are half off, which made it an amazing deal. You can tip on the service even via card payment. Entrance is in back, and they also have a few designated customer parking spots in the lot out back. Thank you Fur Town for doing a wonderful job and helping this new mom out! We’ll definitely be back.

Staff here is great. They make our foster husky feel clean and beautiful, and have been extremely welcoming to us as new dog parents. They even came through when we needed some last minute grooming help. Very thankful for furtown!

It was my first time getting my fur babies groomed here and they did such a good job. Both groomers Yulia and Alyssa did a great job grooming my two little yorkie babies. I’ll be coming here from now on to get my babies groomed regularly. I highly recommend this pet salon for anyone looking for a great grooming experience.

We have been taking Sherry to Fur Town with Rachel and others for a little over a year now and it has been the best decision ever. Sherry is always so happy when we pick her up, at other groomers she would look shy and unconfident but she loves this place. We couldn’t be more satisfied with the way she looks and she even smells so pretty! Highly recommend, thank you so much as always!

Okay, I like Rachel grooming my dog, but even with her I’ve had a hard time explaining what I mean when I say, “I want it SHORT.” I mean short. Not shaved, but next best thing. I don’t know why this is so hard to understand. I am a senior citizen and cannot afford to bring my dog in every 2-3 weeks for a haircut at the whopping price of $80. When I bring him I always say, “I want it short.” Their typical response is, “okay, do you want it a 1/4” 1/2”, or 1/8?” Really??? Do they really think I take a tape measure to decide? I think that’s a stupid question, but whatever. I recently brought my dog in approximately 3-4 weeks ago for a grooming. This time Rachel was out sick, so I was assigned another groomer. She asked me the same stupid questions about how short I wanted it. Clearly, she didn’t understand me at all. Yes, he looked good, but two weeks later he needed another haircut. The groomer actually said to me, “I would have been pissed if you wanted it any shorter.” Excuse me…are you going to pay for his future haircuts? What irked me the most was telling her his face was still too long once I got there to pick him up. She said she would cut it some more, but when I went to pay, she charged me $5 more, costing me $85 rather than $80. I usually always tip $10 for Rachel. Not this time. I was more than pissed and am now shopping around for another groomer who will actually listen to my needs. I’m so angry!!!

I’ve been getting my dogs groomed here for almost 1.5 to 2 years and the last 6 months has been unfortunate. They used to have great customer service and made sure you were aligned with everything and lately the grooms have not really been what I’ve asked for (last 4 months). However, the last groom I had was great so I decided to give it another shot. This time I showed up for my drop off time and was told because I didn’t confirm a text message, they canceled my appt without even letting me know. I even got this reminder via email that my appt was good to go. The groomer helping run the front desk was super rude and honestly she’s been rude on some of my other appts - she noted that they’ve had this confirmation text process for over a year which I know is not true since I’ve had consistent grooming appts and not once has my appt ever been cancelled for “not confirming” and it’s weird they would implement that given they charge late fees/no show fees. The other instances was when I didn’t like how they did the tidy on both my dogs bums as they are quite furry and she condescendingly explained to me that that’s not how it’s done. I’ve had one of my dogs for 10+ years living with one of them across various countries and had her groomed many times and not once have I been told that the bum cleaning I requested is not how it’s done… overall I do love this grooming salon and all the other groomers have been great to work with. The pricing here is super reasonable as well as long as you don’t have to work with this one groomer.

Absolutely LOVE this place! Jaxon & Timber are fresh, clean & happy. Brittany is beyond awesome & Jessica on the front desk REALLY knows her stuff when it comes to fur baby nutrition. We moved from San Dimas to Lake Arrowhead but I'll be bringing my boys here once a month, it's worth the drive!

This place has graciously groomed one of the foster dogs I’ve had since April who was in dire need of a grooming! Alma took great care of my sweet foster dog, who now looks ready to find a home! He’s sensitive and has an unknown background. Even through the challenges, Alma was patient and observant and had great instincts when it came to his unique needs. She took as much time as he needed and allowed for decompression time. I’m certain his next groom will be less scary for him. It ended on a high note with lots of kisses and cuddles for Alma. I’d highly recommend. I can’t believe so much care was donated! 🥹

They did such a great job grooming my dog I’m so happy! I just moved here and was scared I wouldn’t be able to find a great groomer so fast. But they did a fab job.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
