Positive mentions include personal touches, such as seasonal bandanas and tailored care for reactive dogs, suggesting a commitment to both grooming quality and customer service. We have been taking our precious pup to Annie for several years and she consistently does a great job with him. Our dog comes home clean, well groomed, and happy. Annie has a great way with the animals. The seasonal bandana she puts on our dog is a nice personal touch. I wonder how she does that with a new style every time. JoAnns fabrics maybe? Anyway thank you for all the great work over the years!

Annie is the best!!! I have a highly reactive dog that I thought would never see the inside of a grooming salon. Annie personally worked with our trainer to introduce our dog to grooming—now he goes regularly every six weeks by himself and leaves with the cutest cut! Her prices are also really fair and affordable for the great care, expertise, and attention she gives. 💯 would recommend!!!!!!!

I'm not bringing my dogs back here even if I have to learn how to groom them myself. I called to check on my puppy because it was only his second groom and they told me if I called again they wouldn't give me the $70 price. I only called one time to check on my dog after 2 hours but they made a big deal about it. And then instead of trying to detangle one knot on his head they cut all his hair off which I don't even care about that because I should have not let him get a dreadlock. The thing I am most upset about is both of his ears were bleeding and have scabs and blood inside of it. Absolutely unacceptable. Also you shouldn't give people an attitude or scold them like a child because they called to check on their dog and then for some reason say if you do that again I'm going to charge you more than $70. .. also for my dog sanitation cleaning she charged 70 each dog and it wasn't even a full grooming. Both ears have scabs and scratches inside and when I went to give him a bath he is traumatized he is only 8 months old!!

Annie has been great with my pup, Laylah Simone. My puppy can be a bit skittish at times, especially when it comes to grooming, but she has now found a home at We Love Paws. Annie is very knowledgeable and has given me some really good tips on pet grooming in between visits, along with other helpful tips on pup care. Both she and her staff are personable and friendly. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because of a few scheduling and communication mishaps at times, but when that happens, they are apologetic and try to make things right. So far, the pros far outweigh any cons. I am happy that I found this place.

I am new to the area and had to find a new groomer for my cat. I came about We Love Paws and of course I was nervous about leaving him with someone new, however I will never have those worries again. They took great care of my fur baby & he is looking so cute! I promise he’s happier than he looks, we will be back for sure 😊

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
