Reviews
The reviews for Tails and Bows Pet Grooming reflect a stark contrast in customer experiences, highlighting significant dissatisfaction alongside glowing praise. Several customers express their disappointment with the owner's unprofessionalism and poor communication, particularly regarding the rescheduling policy for first-time clients, which they felt was not clearly communicated. On the other hand, many reviewers commend the groomer, Dora, for her meticulous grooming skills, attention to detail, and her ability to handle pets' anxiety—particularly with challenging cases like nervous cats and difficult dogs. Overall, while there are serious concerns about customer service, the quality of grooming care provided by Dora receives high marks, leading to a divided but primarily positive sentiment regarding pet care.
I’ve never had this bad of an experience in my whole life for just trying something new. tails and bows pet grooming📍1725 professional dr WORST PLACE/BUSINESS EVER!! I had an appointment for today but I ended up not being able to go due to something else important coming up, I tried to communicate with the owner whom I had made the appointment with that I would be unable to come in and could I reschedule, an hour passes by and she responds with these words “hi. I am sorry that your unable to make it today. Seeing as that your a first time client with us you will be unable to reschedule with us” ok seemed ok enough but she had never made that clear with me at any point of our conversation over the past few days or was it on their website and when I made that known to her attention she had become snappy with me and acted as if she had and wouldn’t let me reschedule or admit she made a mistake in the communication line. She was not only unprofessional, uncourteous and made me feel uncomfortable but she had taken being rude to a whole new level that I didn’t even know existed. I suggest you all don’t go to them because if you are unable to go to your appointment or she’s in a bad mood then you may get a snappy, rude, ungrateful, and unprofessional attitude from the owner herself
Followed Dora from her old location because she has always done such a great job with Frank. She is thorough with her grooming and detailed with her updates after Frank's care. She also gave me tips on how to keep him matte free in between cuts as well as highlighting problem areas to watch for. I am always really happy with her service.
Just Amazing! Took my boy King Ozzy for nail trim and ear cleaning and she was able to get it done with him just having a typical shiba crying, no fighting. We have tried this at home and it was just impossible, he was screaming and trying to bite us and just couldn’t get it done, and would try to snatch all the ear wipes or ear drops bottle from us. (We were able to trim his nails before when he was younger but it got worst as he grew) I thought I wouldn’t be able to find anyone that could do it as he hates all the ear cleaning and nail trims, or paws wipe. It’s always been one of our worries as we wanted to give him the best care. But now I know where to go!! Thank you very much.
I was VERY nervous about having my kitty groomed 🙀! All because of the whole cats hating water issue, 😹... Not only was she very accommodating with my timing, she went out of her way to get specialized shampoo which COMPLETELY got rid of the cigarette smell. She is so kind, gentle, VERY detailed and professional 👌🏻! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using her services 💯%! Thank you again for helping Mittens get a new lease on life, smelling like a beautiful field of flowers 💐 ❤️ (I added some random pictures of my baby girl because she wanted to say hi 😻😺)
We brought our two longhair cats in to get them bathed/trimmed/nails trimmed and are so glad we did! Dora was very communicative and did an amazing job. I liked that she seemed to prioritize our cat's comfort during the groom (me personally, I'd rather my cat come back having not hurt someone than with a flawless shape) and kept us updated during the process which helps my anxiety. Will definitely be coming back!

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
