Rocky has been going to Paws and Claws the past 2 years since he was a puppy. Every time he goes, he gets excited to see his human and dog friends. The staff know Rocky and are very friendly. His cut always looks as we’ve requested and he smells amazing. It’s nice to have his nails cut and teeth brushed to top off his grooming experience. When we pick him up he knows he’s the man and frolics with his head held high. Thank you Paws and Claws for treating Rocky like family.
Truly the best! The cat groomer is amazing. She is so good with our cat. Our medium-haired cat had rotten teeth as a kitten and so she doesn’t know how to bathe herself very well and her fur gets oily and matted over time. We’ve been taking her 1-2 times a year here for the past few and they’re always so sweet with her and great at communicating with us.
We love taking our kitties to get their claws trimmed here. We also did a bath with them recently and they sent us photos of them in the process and they came back smelling clean. As always, a great experience for us and our cats. I recommend anyone with a dog or a cat to come here.
Hands down the top grooming place I’ve been to! Definitely will be back for the next trim! Natalie is an amazing groomer, she is kind and treats our fur babies so well! Lucy was happy when she was there, mingling with other puppies. This was the first time she’s done nothing but smile and run around at home after a groom appointment. Thank you all for having a place of upmost care!
Very happy with the result of my pup getting groomed here! I had her groomed for the first time and I was unfamiliar about what to do or get for her. They suggested options with pictures of dogs with similar coats (which was very helpful!) and made the process so simple. She looked beautiful after and I loved the thoughtful customer service they provide. 10/10 recommend!!
Our dog Sammy (shih-poo) loves this place, they do a wonderful job on his hair! I highly recommend bringing your pet here, the dogs are not kept in cages they are free to roam around and play. Definitely 5 stars!!!!!
Vlada is genuinely the only person I trust with my dog. We have had so many poor experiences with dog groomers in the past but never here. For the first time ever, my dog does not shake when I go to drop him off at Paws with Claws. He willingly walks in. This is how I know he is safe and well-taken care of there. This place is wonderful and I 10/10 recommend. 🐾
My puppy was dirty, had mats and needed grooming. And he doesn’t like to have his face area trimmed. Sometimes will try to bite. The woman who took care of my Oreo was so nice and understanding. A little more expensive than others, but worth the extra. I will be coming back. Such nice service and respectful service. Thank you Paws with Claws
5 stars doesn't begin to cover the kindness we received at this clinic for our cat Piper. Dr. Martin is not the regular doctor here, but we were blessed to have her for our only visit at Paws and Claws. Piper was diagnosed with autoimmune 5 months ago and stabilized on medication. Days before her check up at Paws and Claws, she took a turn. We showed up to a wellness visit with a very sick cat and Dr. Martin met us with empathy, education, honesty, and compassion. Candace went above and beyond to offer Piper the most gentle hands on care. Our Piper passed at home the next day in our arms, but we knew we had done our best to help her as she has done so many times for us through her unwavering love. Thank you so much to this office for your tenderness and efficiency. We are forever thankful.
Took one of my fur babies in for his first groom, he's still a pup but they were SO good with him 🥰 Looking to Board all 4 of our dogs this summer when we go on vacation and did a walk through of their facility and it is SO dog friendly ❤️ I love this place already, Everyone was so friendly and you can tell they love what they do and they'll love on your babies too!

Call to BookFrequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming
What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?
A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.
How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?
To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.
Why is professional cat grooming important?
Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.
How often should my cat be professionally groomed?
The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.
What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?
Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
