Had such a great experience. My dog came out looking great. Very professional and I’ve been to a lot of groomers, but none that match Doggy Daze!! My dog came out better than I expected. Great staff.

Just moved to the area and saw amazing reviews and pictures so had high hopes, instead I was HIGHLY disappointed. Prior to pickup they text and advised there was an ‘oops’ where they had to go shorter. No kidding, they went super short, choppy and made him look like a poodle. I specifically advised to leave his top knot hair long and muzzle trimmed but not short. His muzzle is completely shaved. Not to mention they completely cut his eyelashes off after saying they ‘unintentionally SHORTENED his eyelashes’. If a refund was possible I would take it in a heartbeat along with NEVER booking here again.

I have been taking my 1 year old Aussie here since I adopted him and overall, we love Doggy Daze! Amazing people and great standard of service. Leaving four stars and not five because of a minor hiccup in our cut today. A great part of their service is that they ask you if you want your "usual." Since River has just started to grow into his two-layer, adult coat over the past 10 months, his usual cut was just a slight trim to shorten the longer coat and clean up his feathers and butt area. Since Riv finally seemed to have grown into his full adult coat, I asked to have his hair cut a little shorter than usual. Seems to have been a miscommunication about how much shorter, because when I picked Riv up his hair was much much shorter than I had hoped ( pictures for comparison of him the days before he was groomed and when he came home). Not super happy about the length of the cut we ended up with, but am hoping that better communication on my part will prevent this in the future. Besides today-Lovely staff, lovely service. Will go back to them again because of the great people there. They're kind to Riv and all of our grooming experiences here have been great. Would definitely recommend to other pet owners, but would also recommend being careful about what shorter means!

They cut my dog’s whiskers purposely… My golden retriever looked like a child came at him with scissors after going here. I asked them to trim the hair around his butt and tail and a little on his arms because it was too long. They shaved his butt and cut his hair way too short. He doesn’t even look like a golden retriever. His ears are the most embarrassing part, it really looks like a hack job. Then I noticed his whiskers were cut, not just one like it was an accident they cut all whiskers short. I am so upset they did this and didn’t even ask but you’re not supposed to cut whiskers and I didn’t want that, I’ve never been to a place that does that. I was so shocked and still am honestly. Absolute worst grooming experience I’ve had. Wish I could rate it lower and hate that I spent $115 for my dog to look worse than when he went in.

Doggy Daze IS NOT SAFE FOR YOU OR YOUR DOG. Just last year a pit bull viciously attacked a golden retriever, ( hit an artery) and attacked the staff. They KNEW this particular Pitt was aggressive. ( Not all are ). After this lowlife facility promised to do the right thing by helping with vet bills a year later, still the run around. You want to give the benefit of the doubt as a rule right? DONT WITH THIS PLACE! They will LIE to your face. They do not care one bit about your dog's safety or yours! STAY AWAY!! THERE ARE WAY BETTER OPTIONS. Please warn as many people as you can so this doesn't happen to someone else. During the time from the incident until now they have begged me not to leave a review, well when you lie and put everyone there and everyone's dogs there at risk. Too bad. Stay safe everyone 🐾 Claiming this is hearsay or some type of competitor smear is JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF HOW YOU DONT TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY & pretty funny actually. Its not a conspiracy theory, just a regular person posting their experience. Thank you Doggy Daze for showing everyone exactly what I meant!

Came in on a Sunday and they were able to take care of me right away! My dog doesn’t like the groomers but they made sure they calmed her down and took her with patience, making it easier for my dog. Will be coming back

Fiona loves this place! I tried 4 other places before and she just would not let them touch her. I have had her for over a year she is 2 I got her from Maricopa pound and I’m not sure of her past but she’s scared of people. Doggy Days somehow has gained her trust! Which is huge! I never request anyone to cut her hair I just make the appointment and they do a great job every time. Not cuts or harm ever done as I have heard horrible stories for some people about other places.

First visit to Doggy Daze in January 2025 was a great experience. My Schnoxie came back to me clean, fluffed and lookin' REALLY good. However, a good groomer, for me, is more than how a pet looks. It's also about how they are treated. This is the reason I'll no longer return there. 2nd visit was 180° turnaround. Besides a very disappointing groom (poor cut, untouched face and underbelly, and no Teddy Bear look SO unlike the 1st time), I found his nails had not been smoothed, so I asked to have it done. While waiting, I wandered back to the little gated room where Monti was waiting to get that additional service and watched him through the window. That's when I saw a large young man reach over the gate grabbing Monti by the back of his neck, roughly drag him into the closed gate and lift him into his arms. The man turned Monti onto his back squeezing him into a position where he struggled but couldn't move while another guy took his feet to grind his nails. By time I got around to the area where I had direct access to where they held my boy, obviously frightened and attemptimg to bite his way to freedom, they'd forced a muzzle on him. At that point, I demanded the large man release Monti to me, and confronted him on his mistreatment of the animal. My complaint was VERY CLEARLY, expressed to the front desk individual as well. It appeared that the young people involved in this incident where not, by any stretch of the imagination, trained in appropriate handling of those animals in their care and trusted by pet parents not to be mistreated. Having to leave such a detailed, negative review is unfortunate, but perhaps it will help the next Doggy Daze client be aware of what happens behind the scenes of this place. So much for relying on what looks like questionable positive reviews... For me? NEVER AGAIN!

Frequently Asked Questions About Cat Grooming

What should I expect during a professional cat grooming session?

A typical professional cat grooming session usually begins with a consultation to discuss your cat's needs. The groomer will then examine your cat's coat and skin condition before proceeding with services like brushing to remove loose fur, bathing with cat-specific shampoo, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and any specialized haircuts if needed. Most sessions take between 1-2 hours depending on your cat's coat condition and temperament.

How should I prepare my cat for a grooming appointment?

To prepare your cat for grooming, brush them at home a few days before to remove loose fur and minor tangles. Keep your cat in a secure carrier for transportation. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and allow your cat time to adjust to the new environment. Bring information about your cat's health, temperament, and any areas they're sensitive about. For anxious cats, consider withholding food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of stress-related nausea.

Why is professional cat grooming important?

Professional cat grooming is important for several reasons: it reduces shedding and hairballs, prevents painful matting, allows early detection of skin issues or parasites, keeps your cat's coat healthy and shiny, reduces dander (helpful for allergy sufferers), and maintains proper hygiene. Professional groomers have specialized tools, products, and techniques to safely handle cats, even those with behavioral challenges. Regular grooming also helps cats become more comfortable with handling, which is beneficial for veterinary visits.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

The frequency of professional grooming depends on your cat's coat type, length, and lifestyle. Long-haired breeds like Persians typically need grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Medium-haired cats may need grooming every 6-8 weeks, while short-haired cats might only need professional attention every 8-12 weeks or during seasonal shedding periods. Cats with special conditions like obesity or arthritis that prevent self-grooming may need more frequent appointments. Your groomer can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your cat's specific needs.

What's the difference between cat and dog grooming?

Cat grooming differs significantly from dog grooming. Cats have more sensitive skin, requiring gentler handling and cat-specific products. Their grooming sessions are typically shorter to minimize stress. Cats often need specialized restraint techniques and quieter environments. Cat groomers use different tools designed for feline coats and are trained to recognize signs of stress unique to cats. Cat-only grooming facilities eliminate the anxiety many cats experience around dogs, creating a more comfortable experience for your feline friend.
